KSP Has taught me more about life than life itself has.

Even though you'll never achieve perfection, that doesn't mean you shouldn't strive to achieve it.

also, nothing is impossible unless it is actually physically proven to be impossible. Never tell yourself something is 'impossible" when it actually means "really hard, but achievable through hard work and determination".

The shortest path is probably the wrong one (learned a few years back when achieving my first orbit).

And very similar:

some things are almost impossible to rush (learned the first few times when trying to plan rendez-vous paths to other planets)

- Everyone who is now good at something was once just starting out.

- Trial and error is one of the most effective ways of learning something.

- There is no shame in going back to the drawing board, even if it means scrapping a project without seeing it through. It just means that you realized your mistakes before they became a catastrophic failure.

- Catastrophic failure is usually just one small mistake short of success.

What the game itself has taught me:

Never settle for less. Heck, don't even settle for really good! Be exceptional!

Mistakes truly are the best teachers. Use them, learn from them.

Be okay with not being the best at something. Just keep getting better!

It something fails twice, you sure as heck better change your method the third time.

What this community has taught me:

Respect is everything.

Remember every person really is living, breathing, thinking, and imperfect.

Different people make for better friends (I've made plenty here! :) )

I love you guys! :D

From orbital mechanics I have learnt one of the most profound truths.

To reach your destination, it takes a small amount of effort early on to get on course. If you leave things late, it takes a tremendous amount of effort to get back on course, but you can do it.

Though it's best for me not to leave things late, if a mistake does happen, with a lot of effort you can reach your destination. :)
