Im MAJORLY hoping that clipped wings will still work. If not, every single sci-fi replica will die, since i NEED clipped wings and control surfaces for half of these replicas to work. Yes it isnt realistic, but neither are sci-fi replicas and in general futuristic stuff. Also, its most likely a 50/50 chance. on one hand, it is unrealistic (not that i care), but on the other hand its WAY WAY WAY more hardware intensive to do dynamic modeling of wings. Worst case theyll make them shielded if inside another part, but there will most likely be ways to glitch this so its not visible but game thinks its outside (such as wings inside a open cargo bay, with another cargo bay covering the open side).

Still, im so keeping 0.90 forever as there are just way too many epic builds i have that either rely on the overpowered jets to pull off crazy feats (laythe roundtrip with a single 150 LF fuel tank), or relying on clipping wings inside hulls.

I know theres a large subvset of the community that probably hates me for enjoying overpowered parts and clipping, but if you arent at all interested in replicating real life, then this stuff comes in handy.

I think that clipped wings ARE realistic. IRL there's no reason you can't make a bigger wing shape! Sure in KSP It woud be a wing shape that is slightly more dense in some sections, but I certainly don't think it is unrealistic and I suspect it will work fine in the aerodynamics model.

So is there some actual 'Countdown' announcement or was that just a pointless tease?

Looks like some pointless tease, but my MONITOR-O-MATIC Steamcharged Monitor Screen is displaying some countdown, but it's so blurrer I can't see the numbers. I think it might be the ANSAR (Ansible-RADAR) tracking of the station. I should really get around to cleaning the screen. We'll know soon enough!

Maybe we will get another picture from Maxmaps today with 10 objects in which case we will know. I can't imagine he would start that hashtag knowing this community if he wasn't starting an actual countdown. If he did well I guess he just contributed to the HYPE!

Anyone else reading into the fact that they have been missing blog posts which are usually super consistent?

from the Kerbal Countdown Thread: "10 more screenshots on Squadcast according to Maxmaps. 10 MORE DAYS?! 11 to 10. IT'S HAPPENING PEOPLE!"

Kaspervld was out sick for a bit with the flu (he's better now), so that would explain a few of them, as for the rest, we do know that they have been super busy.

Squad understands contingency planning and business continuity better than any company on the planet, which is why they only have ONE person who can do the blog posts, and no backup in case oh say, that person was ill.

*cough*

Or 28th, depending on which timezone they're using.

So yeah. 27th/28th.

I hope those screenshots are awesome.

They are in Mexico right? Why wouldn't they use their local time? He said tonight and posted like 15 minutes ago, pretty sure that means today is day 10 of the countdown.

Now i keep asking myself if i really should start my 1st multi-ship interplanetary mission in my science game after 1.0, because it might screw up my designs.

how does that rocket not spin out of control wildly? an engine is missing

It was an elaborate set up to show a hidden number 11(days left in a countdown, count the engines). for all we know he used a much bigger booster below that we cant see.

All hail the magical SAS

That and pointing straight up, maybe with some spin stabilization.

Are you sure they're boosters? They look like a reskinned round monoprop tank to me.
