I'd say yes. I use FAR, DRE, RT, RPM, KCT, RWsaturatable, Persistentrotation, and solarpanelfix so stock would be easier.

I recommend these mods even though I currently have a craft that is spin stabilised around Minmus and it is spinning at a rate just too fast for the panels to track the sun and it does not get power for long enough to establish a connection to KSC. I'm thinking that in a few months Kerbin will move around the sun and it will get power again but there is no way currently to regain control.

Part of me really really likes that.

The other option is to launch another craft and regain control by matching orbits. That's the only other solution I can think of.
