Majorjim!
Hi all, I was testing to see if Squad fixed the engines not firing after having been inside fairings bug. I seem to have discovered their way around it. Or it could just be a bug. Anytime a separator is connected to a faring base when it is separated the fairing is automatically released too. Can anyone confirm this? Also, I discovered a heating bug. I will post a video so you can see what is happening and try to recreate it. Parts are overheating on the pad and exploding. It seems to only happen when the fairings are used like in the video. Maybe someone can test too. I am using no mods. Mad Rocket Scientist
Well, I haven't found any bugs yet, but I see a misspelling in your post:1.03, instead of 1.0.3.
Jon144
I found a major bug. Engine exhaust no longer causes heating damage to parts.See more here: http://forum.kerbalspaceprogram.com/threads/126311-1-0-3-Heating-oversightEven 16 staged seperatrons faced directly at a structural panel cannot even raise its temperature by a hair.I also found that the little square heat panels cause lag-spikes in the editor. Majorjim!
Any chance you can share the craft file & log - I'm having trouble getting this to happen hereIts just a test craft, look at the video its that engine then a fairing base then a little blue seperator then the skipper then the fuel tank ect ect, all in the video. Try to attach the fairing as it is in the video. I have chatted with some people here who have craft that are broken by this bug.

YagiHakase
I've been bitten with this bug http://bugs.kerbalspaceprogram.com/issues/5154It's pretty heartrending, i had 3 kerbals on missions, and i know 2 of them are as good as lost. They even appear on the astronaut complex as being in a mission, but once i try to control the ship, they are not there. I don't have the courage to check on the third (which BTW is Jeb of all folks ).I'm disappointed that a post-beta, compulsory patch haves such a major, game breaking bug. I play pretty much only career, and i'm almost certain my current game is as good as lost
Grumman
There are at least five of us who have been hit by the invisible planet bug - two with no mods, three with a variety of mods but none shared between all three of us.

It goes for everything beyond .90Version 1.0.0 up to now is just a continuation of beta. Adding in many new untested systems. Yet having the nerve to call it the full game. Even with squad now admitting that they were rushed on time to make the full release. It is kind of silly. We should still be in beta right now. Version 1 should have been .95 to actually test all these new systems. And it is still possible to time-warp through planets.

The game is broken and unfinished. Oooh, has anyone tried the stowed engine bug? It looks like Squad bodge jobbed it and just set all fairings to release automatically when a separator is staged..bye-bye interstages.
bryantf16
I have the same issue, unmodded KSP via Steam, I didn't even know there was an update until it loaded. I have a major mission with 5 kerbals most of the way to Duna. The command pod has been ripped out of the ship (which you can see in the distance) and there is no ability to control or do anything. When I reverted to an earlier save (with the ship on the ground at Minimus) the ship was there but Minimus had disappeared. I have seen other posts with this issue but not a way to fix it. Has anyone tried a complete reinstall with any luck?
Jon144
I am so done with these stupid patches. After quitting out of the game to complain I went back into the VAB to see this:
basic.syntax
I am so done with these stupid patches. After quitting out of the game to complain I went back into the VAB to see this: http://i.imgur.com/9NyPczt.jpg I had that, too. I made a comment about it in the announcement page. Did you remove a mod and then reload an old save? Exiting, restarting KSP, and then beginning a new game seemed to fix it for me. I didn't "lose" the old save... I loaded it again, and the VAB parts buttons were working.

I've also been trying to repro http://bugs.kerbalspaceprogram.com/issues/5153 which sounds sort of similar, but just not happening for me. If you dont mind sharing the craft file and logs then I can try and repro the exact craftIf we can figure out what the cause/combination is then we can "bug" Ted/Devs- - - Updated - - -Oh, nother question - new save or old save? maybe theres something there as well?- - - Updated - - -Another go here with the separator and I just cant replicate it. From the descriptions and the video I'm sure its the fairing, but I cant get it in place here - the separator seems to be creating its auto fairing and not letting me do it:Wish I could repro it to dig in further
Ruedii
It looks like you have the wrong engine in the first stage. Of course there will be an explosion if you ignite the top rocket in that configuration. That's working properly.

It is a valid technique for the advanced builders. A lot of people use my technique. I will share the craft file so you can test for yourselves. It only overheats when the fairing is in that position.

Majorjim!
OK adding this from a thread I just opened:This craft was just sitting on the pad and an adaptor exploded. I pressed f3 and saw this: It was clipped but there was no use of the part clipping setting.
Solar71
I would like to revert to 1.0.2 please.Yes it had bugs too, but FAR fewer. And most of them I was able to work around.1.0.3 is not good and 1.0.4 Is better, but 1.0.2 is still the best so far.
