Resource defs "hsp"

So I've looked around a lot of places on the forums, and others, and cannot find anything with reference to the line entry "hps" in the default resource defs file in the Squad data. I used to hack around with resource defs quite a bit, but havn't done so since about pre-0.23, so that pretty much explains my stance here. So basically, I was just wondering, what is this mysterious value "hps", and is it even required in a resource definition?
