"Eve: Order Zero" -- a KSP Graphic Novel (POSTLUDE COMPLETE...bet you didn't see THAT coming.)

Recommended Posts

I created an account just to weigh in on this. Runways are numbered with the direction you are heading, dropping the last 0. 90 at one end, 27 at the other. This would indicate he was taking off to the west, Possibly from KSC. Maybe an alternate world where Kerbin rotates the other direction?

BTW, Excellent work Kuzzter! It is joy to read each new page. Thank you for doing this for us!

Is this a bad time to remind the world of the cloaking device mod?

Does it let you fire when bloaked... er, cloaked?

You're welcome, kmyers--and welcome to the Forum! Glad you weighed in on this; I was just about to post a comment that the 27 was for Carlton Fisk because I'm a Red Sox fan, but then again no Sox fan would ever erase a 9 (Ted Williams), even to write a 27. Anyways...

to me, the "ugly" SSTO looked like a ship from Star Trek- the one kinda like a bird.

Romulan bird-of-prey? Or Klingon?

I bet the kerbals from Bizarro Kerbin are called Labreks and are purple. ;)

AAAAHHHHH!!!1! *flails at light switch*

Just for that, I'll only post ONE page this morning...

Thats one thing on page 27.

Okay, I shall never bring it up again.

On a final note however......

This is on page 27 too, caught my eye. Maybe it means something?

But maybe Kuzz is dropping hints to do with 9. Gonna check up on page 9.

Looking back on page 9 I found some interesting stuff, although it may not tie in with our current mystery.

Kahn Kerman might be the inspiration for Martystu.

The bad guys might have something to do with Jool or even Dilsby, speaking of Dilsby... We haven't heard from him for a while.

I doubt that Kuzzter had this planned all the way back in August. I think that the 27/09 thing is a red herring, so far as page numbers are concerned. However, the significance of them taking off in opposite directions is probably important.

WAIT a minute!!! You sir just gave me an idea, what if there was a clue posted on the twenty-seventh of the ninth month?

No, again he doesn't think that far in advance. My guess is that this is more recent, perhaps as recent as the last 2 weeks.

Oooh... mysteries! Is there a rival space program where every kerbonaut has a goatee?

They might just. Referencing that "star trek episode where good and evil kirk&friends are mixed up right?

I tried wiki'ng Star Trek TOS episode 27, but that one deals with parallel universes and has nothing to do with the Romulans or otherwise.

Well, perhaps Kuzzter was inspired by that star trek episode, and just continued on in a startrecky-back-guy style? Plus, the alternate universe angle would tie it to the episode with the goatees which was also an alternate universe.

Does the regular KSC runway have a 27 at it's east end? I like the idea though but if this is right it probably means it's not a star trek episode reference or vice versa.

I'm leaning towards the alternate universe angle tho. Kerbfleets universe is pretty happy-go-lucky place, an alternate setting that's diametrically opposite to it may just be what a writer looking for a break needs?

Yes, it does have a 27 at one end, and a 09 at the other. I think the only significance is that the SSTOs took in different directions, and what ever we can make from that.

Some quotes from the interlude taken completely out of their context:

"Probes can do almost anything a kerb can, and they always do what you tell them."

"what if .. they did exactly the opposite"

"things I don't think a kerbal would ever do. Could ever do"

And why do that evil SSTO have what looks like a grabbing claw at the front?

In a mirror image world where everything is opposite, the planets would spin the opposite direction. You would have to take off to the west to get to orbit.

Yes, very true. But I don't think Kuzzter has a separate save game with all the rotations backward. I think he just had it take off the other way to show us that it's opposite.

Says who I don't? :) I don't really do 'meta' clues though, that's not fair. (but I might have left a clue somewhere else on the Forum, you never know...) In general the simplest explanation for the visual evidence is the best, I'm running a comic strip here not a cryptography course :)

And why do that evil SSTO have what looks like a grabbing claw at the front?

Because it has a grabbing claw on the front, that's why :)

Hmmm... but the question is: "is there someone in the cockpit ?" xD

Well, I certainly didn't show you anyone in the cockpit, did I? But then again I didn't show you poor Gemmane's face either. I will say this: I don't clip parts, even on evil SSTOs...and I also don't launch SSTOs that aren't capable of landing back on runway 27 (or 09, as the case may be) after completing all parts of their missions.

There, that should be good for another few pages of comments... very glad the mystery seems to be entertaining everyone, because I am still working on Pt3 of the Interlude. (it requires some custom building... nothing as complicated as a new, super-ugly SSTO and doctored runway surface, but still time consuming) Hope to have it for you tomorrow sometime. Don't hold your breath on the mystery though, the concept for Pt3 doesn't necessarily include any more information.
