"Eve: Order Zero" -- a KSP Graphic Novel (POSTLUDE COMPLETE...bet you didn't see THAT coming.)

Recommended Posts

So Gemmane KERMAN was rescued and recruited, so either the Gemmane Kermulan bit was some kind of joke or in an alternate universe, or the whole ordeal was just in Kooty Lenlie's head, which could cause him to turn psychopathic and try to kill Kerbals, he has become Venom!

DUN DUN DUNNNN

*spikes Mort's coffee with hydrazine* This guy seriously needs to relax. More than that - i think he's in grave need of long, nice vacations.

A non-family friendly line from "Good Morning, Vietnam!" comes to mind.

All right, now that the furor over the mystery has died down a bit. I'd like to offer another musical interlude.

Back before 1.0, Eve was an even more fearsome place. With that in mind...

On a dark cosmic byway, in a small can of air

Cold threat of the vacuum, keeping me so aware.

Up ahead in the distance, I saw a great purple spot

I made a node as I hit the rim, and a correction did plot

There she hung in the darkness, shrouded in purple gloom

And I was thinking to myself

"This could be glory or this could be doom."

She was lit up from Kerbol

In a bright purple day

There were voices on communicator,

I thought I heard them say...

No return from planet Eve kerb I warn ya

Such a purple place (such a purple place)

Such a heavy space

Plenty of wrecks on planet Eve kerb I warn ya

Every second year (every second year)

There's a Hohmann here

She's got Rockomax bits all twisted, Kerbodyne parts with bends.

There were a lot of pretty, pretty craft - all met dead ends.

Kerbals wander the surface, full of regret,

Some walk to remember, some walk to forget.

So I called up the Kaptin, "Please get Gene on the line."

He said "We've been stranding landing Kerbals here since year two day three fifty nine."

And still those voices were calling from far away

I woke from hibe in the middle of the flight, just to hear them say...

No return from planet Eve kerb I warn ya

Such a purple space (such a purple space)

Such a sticky place

They live a long time on planet Eve kerb I warn ya

You're stuck on the ground (you're stuck on the ground)

Bring your rover down

2 G's on the surface,

5 atmo thick air.

And she said "We are all just prisoners here, look around and despair."

And in combustion chambers

Fuel and ox are released

The engine lights with a fiery blast,

But it just can't lift the beast.

Last thing I remember,

I was planning an ascent

I had to find a trajectory back

From the purple place I went.

"Relax." said Gene Kerman,

"You are landed on Eve."

"You can EVA any time you like."

"But you can never leave."

Happy landings!

First reply to new pages!

Mazel tov. May I helpfully recommend you add some "meaningful content" to that post? :)

seems like that might leave a lot of delta v required for Kerbin insertion... will be interesting to see how this works out...
Kranefly carries and absolutely stupid amount of fuel, and left Gilly with full tanks plus the proverbial 15 tons of ore. I think I'll be able to drop of Bill and Jeb in orbit, then go back to Eve just for funsies :)

Seems legit. Though rather pointless...

If Kranefly has a probe body, couldn't Bill just hack into it and take control while Val is in hibe or something?

Luckily, Jeb can keep on kicking for years if this world's courts are anything like America's!

Boy I wish they abolished lawyers

Not really. If Jeb knows how to pilot planes/rocket ships, I would consider him a flight risk and try and have him held without bail.

Also: What would happen if there were no prosecutors? Criminals wouldn't be put in jail for lack of a case against them. Without defense attorneys? Innocent people would be put away. Let's look at something obscure, like patent law. Lawyers help to clarify the differences between patents, which would otherwise be the subject of- you guessed it- lawsuits. In sum total, I think that law is complicated, but lawyers are a necessary evil.

^^That is actually a good point. More, given the proven l33t skillz some of the detainees have (say , like reality altering powers ;) ), aren't Val and co giving a LOT of leeway to them ? :D

You can bet Val's locked out everything that can be locked out using the prefix code. But if Bill did use some trick to get control of a working ship, and Jeb pulled off some crazy stunt (say, hooking half an abandoned BattBot and an abandoned LV-N to Alouette) that let them go anywhere in the Kerbol system-- where do you think they'd go?
