Increased thrust

Recommended Posts

On the navball, on the thrust meter, there's a little red section.

It's always ticked me off that it sits there and doesn't do anything so here's my idea.

If you increase thrust using the shift key then it automatically maxes at 100% (same if you use the Z key), and you press shift (or Z) again to get increased thrust.

BUT if you do this your engine will overheat and explode if left for long enough, just to keep it balanced. :D:D

Afterburners for jet engines, please. :)

Z and X for throttle full and off? Then you can hold shift at 100% throttle to give you afterburner temporarily? Yes please.

And maybe jet engine thrust reversers too. Even if it's not really realistic; being able to afterburner into a thrust reverser on landing would be pretty amazing.

Sounds good, but if you instantly get max throttle by pressing Shift, how would you get lower thrust? For example, for landing? That'd be a bit tricky.

I think the idea was that pressing-and-holding shift only goes up to 100% (ie, the way it works now). You'd have to release shift and press (and hold?) it again to "overthrust".
