So I guess it's a bit late to submit?

Wait for the next tournament to roll around.  Should be mid-March or early April, depending.  Unless someone else decides to run a tournament, that is.

BDA has had a competition mode since the 18th Feb. Why isn't it being used?

The tournament was started before competition mode was released, and updating it mid-tournament would be unfair to everyone involved.  I would hazard a guess that all future tournaments will use competition mode.  I can tell you that mine certainly will.

ATTENTION PLEASE RESPOND:

Of the videos already uploaded, are you, reader, capable of setting them to a resolution higher than 360p?  They were recorded in 1080p but seem to downgrade to 360p after I upload them.   I need to know now.

The only mods used a BDArmoy and Kerbal Joint Reinforcement. The insert link function is a bit buggy atm for me, so I can only put the raw link. I also forgot to completely set the guard mode, so you need to put the 360 3500 settings manually.

No, but this happened sometimes:

Not in gun range...just exploded.

Don't know what it is, cause it does not happen when I view it from your F-2 point of view...

Thanks for this b.t.w :

yuo see komrad, when the cannot fly, plane is the bullet.

For the breaking part, must be because of Kerbal Joint Reinforcement. I'm using it instead of struts. I'll try correcting this and putting more struts then.

On a side note, I think K-17 might be a better name for your plane. It's really similar to it, and its maneuverability is pretty high if compared to the actual F-18. The F-17 is basically a mini F-18 built for the contest the F-16 won.

Yes, the YF-17 (base was the F-5, my favorite fighter (also the base for the X-29 and the F-20)

Thanks for the idea, I actually changed it's name.

Here's more candy: https://www.dropbox.com/s/pc7t124ou59pjx2/K-16.craft?dl=0 ^_^

The K-16 didn't win here against the K-17

Aimbots win again. Imgur is broken, so I don't have the images yet.

I'll give you the link for the plane, the F-3; https://www.mediafire.com/?6czqzr3lxlrxx5t

F-2 vs. F-3 :

1st fight:

Yes, the F-2 spontaneously exploded....

2nd fight:

Love Jeb's face

I've runned the simulation some more times, the F-2 is better than the F-3.

I must say, first thing I do when I download a fighter I rip off the flight computer and weapons manager and replace them (with only setting the weapons manager firing interval to 1)!

...And be sure you have the latest version of BDA

Each plane has it's own minimum stall speed depending on its design. This monster I built, for example, can maintain control (but not lift) as slow as 25 m/s, probably due to a combination of huge wing and elevon area.

Well, the design is supposed to be based on the Su-33/MiG-29K, with stall speeds around 66-68 m/s. I think it's pretty decent compared to that. I'll try to make it more maneuverable in low speed tho.

Strange. I've done manual flight testing, and the F-3 is much more maneuverable than the F-2, to the point it could slightly out turn the K-18. It's also lighter by about 4-5 tons. What did you observe in the F-2 that gave it an edge?

I only did BDA simulations, having both settings equalized as default, with exception of firing interval setting to 1.

Your F-2 does better here.

How is my F-17 holding up there ? is it any good ?
