My question is, should I rescue him?

If you don't rescue him, at least rename the capsule 'Mun Colony One' or something equally grand. Then send him base upgrades, a rover and other toys

One of my first memorable moments in this game came when Jebediah became stranded in Munar orbit after running out of electric charge. His was my first trip to the Mun. My second trip there was with a larger ship with solar panels and a big spotlight. I EVA'd Jeb to the 2nd ship and brought him home. I still look fondly back at those screenshots; it really made me feel invested in my spaceprogram and gave me a proper sense of adventure this game can provide.

Rescue your man; he deserves it.

Rescue him when convenient. You'll need to repeat his mission anyway, whatever it was, so just send an extra seat with and try to land nearby.

It's not like he's stranded on Eeloo or something. If you're playing career, you're almost certainly going to have to go back to the Mun anyway. Just combine the rescue with another mission.

Also, I was playing sandbox mode. I don't play career.

But when I do sandbox, I'm less inclined to save Kerbals...

I accepted contracts to rescue two Kerbals - one is near Dres orbit. The second is stuck in a capsule inside Moho's orbit! I hate Moho! But i will pay a mountain of cash for a ship able to pull this rescue off, i will go there - and i will bring that poor, unlucky son of a booster back home. Because it's the right thing to do.

Rescued a kerbal orbiting between Jool and Eeloo once - a single nuke pushing an asparagus set of liquid fuel tanks and carrying a Mk1, heat shield, and an octo pod.

And in the process flunked a couple of expiring contracts waiting for that loooong orbit to finish...

You stranded him there... you need to fix it! I always quicksave before entering atmos just in case my kid hits the keyboard to i do something that wasn't mission designed. If i forget to put a chute on or run out of fuel.. dude's a pancake.

And you have to send another rescue mission to rescue first rescue mission.

It is actually relatively easy to retrieve him from the mun and by doing that you can practice your landing precision
