Is it just me, or has most of the autopiloting ben removed from the 2..0.8? I wind up wondering if I should stick with 1.9.1, since I have a horrid time actually plotting most transfers.

They're in the maneuver planner, unless you're speaking about something else.

EASY FIX for all the people that have had issues with the landing assistance system:

You must click a landing target in map view. DO NOT input target coordinates, this is what makes MJ2 want to fly you to Duna when your landing on the Mun. I kinda stumbled into this workaround last night as I was having a stern talking to with one of my orbital refineries(it wasn't playing nice with the dropship wellhead...). So I did some testing, launching 8 small capsule type landers into Munar orbit. Landers 1-4 touched down on the moon flawlessly, their targets were selected via clicking on mapview mun. Landers 5-8 had only 2 landings, the other two shot off into deep space someplace. These landings were targeted via inputting lat/long into MJ2 gui.

So I guess for now just to be safe I'd recommend only selecting an LZ from mapview.

Any way to intercept a ship in orbit and thus make doking?

Set your target ship in map view, click on rendezvous autopilot, engage the autopilot.

Follow this tutorial for the simplest docking method, or use docking autopilot if you want to bang your head against the monitor for a while.

Docking with no RCS using MechJeb 2.0

Yes, but that's not exactly easy, when trying to land on a specific ore body, since there's no shown coordinate reference system in map mode, other than hovering the mouse around and hope you're aimed right. No veering off and goingto Duna, but I have had an annoying time with the MJ deciding that I really want to land hundreds of KM away from my intended target

Hey guys! :D

First of all thanks for Mechjeb but now my biggest question...

I bought it via Steam and have it Installed on a seperate HDD but MechJeb wont work.

KSP Version is: 20.2.186 and I tried Mechjeb 2.0.8.0, 2.0.6 and 1.9.8.

I get no Mechjeb button on the right of my screen. :/

Anybody knows a work around so it works?

Hate to say it but there is another easy fix....

Use MJ2 as a pilot assistance computer and not an autopilot....that will get rid of all your autopilot woes =P

Of course if your like me this does lead to a slightly higher green dude mortality rate....

I decided to test this out today, so I sent a Gemini lander to the Mun with the intent of setting it down near an Altair lander that was already on the surface. I launched the Gemini aboard a Titan IIIc. MechJeb controlled the ascent to an orbit of 80km, then performed the TMI burn, mid-course correction to adjust the closest pass at 150km, then circularised the orbit at 105km. I manually input the landing coordinates, being careful to put the lander down just off to the side of the one already on the surface in order to avoid the messy "Hey! You got your Gemini in my Altair!" scenario. Mechjeb controlled the burns and descent profile, all the way to the surface. Here was the result.

The Gemini came a hair's breadth from flattening the flag planted by the Altair crew, but otherwise it was a textbook, by the numbers flight. I'm not sure what is causing such problems for people with certain MechJeb functions, but it's been solidly dependable for me. The only other functional type mod I have installed is Crew Manifest, if that's any help.

It's hit or miss for me, I usually target a craft that's landed already and then just edit the target coordinates to miss by 10 or so meters. Sometime it works flawlessly, sometimes it sits at correcting course but not actually burning for a little while till I get bored waiting and do it manually then re engage the landing ap. if I'm already on course and at low altitude it will take over for me without a problem.

That I can do it myself.

I need help to stop the two spacecraft in the same orbit at the same speed. Alongside one another. Always stay 400 meters away and then disappears.

Your question no longer makes any sense to me :(

You asked about docking 2 ships with mechjeb but I have no idea what your asking for now

High altitude descents are more accurate than low altitude descents - they have more time to adjust and come down more vertically.

thanks you
