Yeah mate. I am way ahead of you. When KSP was updated to unity 5 some of the part geometry changed. The ant engine is one of them. So during the Unity 5 pre-release I invented another version seen here:

 

It's now even smaller and still the smallest possible hinge in stock KSP. Just replace the ant engines with antennas.

The mod is Editor Extensions, as the standalone mod no longer works
