Vent-able tanks

I'm sure this has been suggested - but vent-able tanks would be nice. There are those times I dearly wish I could dump fuel. They're rare, but when they occur I REALLY wish it was possible.

You are correct, this has indeed been suggested (many times) before.

In the mean time you could use a mod like TAC Fuel Balancer to dump your unused fuel.

I use TAC also... HOWEVER, it would be nice to see something like ventable tanks become stock, just for submarine ballast uses...

Sure. And steak diner 7 days a week would be nice too. But since that's not going to happen all I can do is offer you meatloaf.

The ore containers do have a "Jettison Contents" option. And they're heavy. Submarine Ballast solved!

I would like the option to drain fuel if necessary. It does't seem like it would be difficult to add considering it's a feature on the ore tanks. Maybe if we complain loudly enough, SQUAD will listen and throw a "Dump Fuel" option in 1.1.

Well, I'm certainly in favour of having the option added.  I probably wouldn't use it very often, but there have been times when I would have.

Have you tried Smart Parts? This has a fuel dump as well as some other useful parts.

I would also vouch for this feature. As has been said, the simple, obvious way to do it would be via action groups like the ore containers, but I'm not a fan of the all-or-nothing proposition that dumps the entire contents of the tank.

A better solution IMHO would be a fuel venting port where you can specify the dump rate (and have a nice little spray animation). Certain engines could also have this functionality in the engine itself (turn on the fuel pump/open the valves without igniting the engine).

Actually yes,  the 'all or nothing' dump is a bit harsh.

A start/stop mechanic like the fuel transfer nay be a possible solution too.

If nothing helps i put two small engines diametral to fuselage and burn so fuel off, without adding any speed vector. not elegant, but works.
