Okay.

Jack and Jill went up a hill,
To fetch a pail of water.

Jack fell down,
Busted his crown.
And Jill stood there and laughed her butt off and ran off with me because I have 1,584,886,427.27 funds in da bank of GDJ.

BOOYAAA

Nighty-night. Sleep tight. Mind the bedbugs don't bite.

Gene: "Hold my beer and watch this!"

Which went about as well as such things normally do. :) Right now I'm imagining a Looney Tunes style spacecraft powered by Mort chasing Gene on a treadmill and shouting at him.

Great chapter and good choice of names for the kids!

Edit:  On a more serious note, I did like having a Grand Tour mission be the result of a drunken bet! It's very kerbal somehow and a neat way of linking the two parts of that last chapter.

If I recall correctly, this kind of contract is tracked by each command module. Which means detachable capsule and separate (multistage, if necessary) replaceable hardware for different parts of the mission is allowed. Still, Eve being on the list freaks me out a bit.

hehehe... yeah, actually I had over 2 billion, but I went into the persistent file and knocked it down to 20 million to fit the story.
Easy come... easy go.... oh well.

It will probably look something from the old "Whacky Races" or something Marvin the Martian might make... yeah.....

For the record, the game provided the names.  I just waited for a couple that seemed to fit.

And yeah.... I figured a drunken bet was a fun way to get Gene to accept a bet he would NEVER have done otherwise. And the children's arrival provided the perfect excuse for a party.  Now someone just has to lock the bottom left drawer of Gene's desk... and throw the key into the ocean!

Being able to make a smaller landing shuttle would help a lot, but I'm still a little scared.
This insane contract... Oh, BTW... Thanks DEV team for including this loony-tune contract in the game!  :sticktongue:

Anyway, it has not only Eve, but Tylo as well... I hate that rock... lol.
I like to think I'm good at this game, but I'm a bit worried I may have raised the bar a bit high this time.
No big deal... I like a challenge, and it shouldn't effect the overall plot much either way.

I can so make this work with the larger scheme.... ... bwaahahahaha....

Well, 20 million is still pretty good. :)

As far as my actual career game goes, funds aren't really an issue anymore.  I can make quick cash a few different ways if I need it.  I'm at the point it's sort of like playing a sandbox game, but with contracts to keep it interesting.

Of course, I can't afford to get over confident,  Gene could still lose it all if I'm not paying attention.   :0.0:

Same here. I pretty much can build what I want and launch it without worries.

Altho' I farted up a few tourist contracts, and THAT really hits your rep standings.....hard......like -1000 hard.

Oh, boy... I'm really curious to see what that "ultimate" ship will look like! Can that contract even be fulfilled in one lifetime?

That is the 20 million dollar question..... or whatever Kerbals use for currency....

yeah, the rep hit for this contract is actually way worse than the funds penalty...
But the worst part is Gene absolutely cannot, under any circumstances, let Parka B. Kerman win this one.
It's a matter of pride.... and honor... and ego.

Good old Marvin:

"There was no Kaboom? I was waiting for a Kerbin shattering Kaboom!"

Which, not entirely coincidentally, makes KSK as an acronym.

So I hear you're lookin' for an interplanetary supership. Well, I've got one. She's called the odyssey, and she's got it all. Science, artificial gravity, and room for over 20 crew. Some assembly required, but she can be yours for the small price of 20,000 funds, plus a 5% sales tax.

Well, Squad opened Pandora's box on the canon of Kerbal biology by introducing "girbals".  Before, you could imagine Kerbal biology any way you wanted, even having them be all artificial constructs.  Now we have to account for gender and sexual dimorphism somehow, whether in its literal sense as you're doing or in some other way, such as having larval/instar forms vs. mature forms, different castes like ants and termites, complex life-cycles as with ferns and fungi, etc.  All to appease those who get too easily offended over something that exists only as electrons in memory chips......

Yes, I have to admit the presence of two genders is just too inconvenient for words......if only we could somehow eliminate one of them.....must go to my lab and ponder this at length.....

(Eerie sounds...disturbing lights....occasional bursts of maniacal giggling....)

Gee, that's actually an inspired concept for space-babies...Velcro onesies!  So much more reliable than rubbing them on top of your head and static-sticking them to the wall...

The fun part is I can take my time with the kids... they may prove to be the bigger challenge.   :sticktongue:
The part that has me a little challenged myself is I have no idea at this moment if and how to build this ship... lol...
So I'm not exactly sure how this is going to ultimately end..... hehehe.
Just like my favorite: Doctor Who, I'll be making a lot of this up as I go along, and hope it all comes out right in the end.  :0.0:

Gene, you besotted drunken fool......but an Ultimate Grand Tour.....how soon do the bodies line up right....Dr. VK...?   :D

I think all baby Kerbals come with a Velcro space suit!

oh... my..... that is so campy.... Oh, Yes.... yes!!!  YES!!!!   BWaaahahahahahaha   :sticktongue:

I just had the most wonderfully twisted, evilly beautiful... astronomically cheesy brainstorm....

This is just so wrong in so many ways, I can't not do it!   hehehehe

It's going to take me a couple more days to get things into place... plus I still have to address the challenge... but please be patient.
I think you'll like where this is going to boldly... no, weirdly...  go.

I hate to say, but the real campiness is still a few chapters away.
However...  this will add at least 10 more chapters than I originally planned... Quite possibly more...
