I'm only talking about part-1, not the whole Saga. That's still got a long, long way to go...

As for tying everything back together... No, if I do this, it's more likely to shatter everything...

Y'all know how I am about Cliffhangers...  :0.0:

I dunno.  I prefer having all bodies in the same mass grave everything in 1 place.  I've always thought arbitrarily breaking a single story into a trilogy or even more parts was either just Tolkien-envy or mere crass commercialism to sell more movie tickets and merch.  Once you start down that path, forever will your destiny be guided by sequelitis.  Besides, the only way to have the longest-running, most-viewed, most-liked thread is to keep it going forever :)

That’s a very succinct way of putting it.  FWIW, Emiko has always felt to me like a classic ongoing serial— there is an end, somewhere, out there, way down the road; kinda like ST: Voyager, Quantum Leap, Lost in Space:wink:, but the ending is not the focus of the story.

That probably makes even less sense than it did in my head.

Anyways, I say keep it here in one thread. Maybe organize the chapter page into different “books” or some such. If, in the process of telling the story, @Just Jim happens to slam up against the end of the forum (or simply tumble off), well, then that’s something. Another feather in the cap of this thread. :D

Makes perfect sense to me.  Somehow, Emiko has become to me what soap operas are to others.  Just as some soaps have been on TV for over half a century and are still going strong, with devoted followers and no end in sight, such has Emiko become to me.  It just wouldn't be the same if it was a different thread.

Read through the saga (again) and I found something. The Kraken Lord can't find his father's telepathic presence, right? And he is wondering why his father put Thompberry's brain into a jar, right? And Thompberry knew how to open a wormhole with a floating graviolli boulder, which is a basic kraken knowledge, right? The Kraken Lord's father is using Thompberry Kerman's brain as a host. Like if you agree.

No, you guys are right. Emiko Station has become a Kerbal soap opera in many ways. And I don't mind calling it one. While I don't watch them, I can't help but admire any television show, no matter what genre, that can go on for decades. That's an incredible amount of writing, even if it is really tacky...

And when I think about it from that perspective, it does make more sense just to keep this going, and not do the part 2, part 3 thing... even if it does mean another hundred chapters...

Yeah, the cable company.

What happened, in a nutshell, is I live with my mom. I moved back in after my dad passed away so she wouldn't be alone. And it's worked out really well until now.

But last week my mom when on vacation, my little sister and her husband took her to Rome for her birthday, which is pretty cool.

The problem is we never realized my name is not on the cable account, so I can't authorize to have somebody come out and fix it. And there is no way my mom is going to pay overseas charges to sit on the phone with the stupid cable company for an hour just to get a repairman sent out.

So bottom line, I got to wait until next week when she gets home so she can call and scream and yell at them.

I think there's some internet places where you can talk overseas for free.

Oh wait.

Yay!  "Days of our Young, Restless Emiko Hospital" it is!   May this last as long as all those combined!

Seriously, you've achieved the incredible here, a non-tacky soap :)

The whole room turned quiet as she silently descended the staircase, looking like some beautiful ghost of a bygone age.

Then from the back of the ballroom a voice cried out...

"My God, it's S. Lucci Kerman, and she's awakened from her coma... again!"

When you find yourself putting Kerbals beneath Mk. I Illuminators for dialogue and introducing Jeb's fifth long-lost twin, then you'll know it's gone too tacky and that it's time to wrap up the story.  Otherwise, run it until the bolts fall out.

So, I was just messing about in my own game, playing with eldritch things that ought not be meddled with by mortal hands, and had to do a quickload.

Everything, gone. The universe stripped bare to its natural state, no trace left of what I'd done, except...

For a single red magic boulder staring back at me as the game loaded.

Coincidence? I think not!

Fortunately I have many more saves and all is well. So far.

I know, right???

But on a positive note, having some time off I've been able to get a lot done behind the scenes, including finally figuring out one of the two huge issues I face with the Emiko Station rebuild... :D

Why does Emiko Station need to be rebuilt? I thought it was just evacuated until this whole thing was figured out?

A couple reasons...

Within the story: Geschosskopf's vision from the green Magic Boulder to "Hide Emiko and Emiko", and also Angelo Kerman's orders from the Grand Kerbal to move all nuclear related research off-planet.

Outside the story: I've wanted to rebuild it for a long time now, especially with some of @Angel-125's mods... and considering the title is the Saga of Emiko StationI figure it's been far too long since we've done anything with the station itself.

Truth be told, most all of this time I've been without the internet I've been working out the design... which is pretty ambitious, even by my standards...

Sounds great! I will be looking forward to seeing it. So what will this thing have? A gravity ring, biospheres, a fusion reactor core module?
