In my opinion, the best super-villains weren't so black and white, so to speak. Some horrible event almost always turned them into what they were. And I always thought the worst ones were the ones that didn't really bring it onto themselves. They weren't just evil... they were also filled with layer after layer of hate and rage and jealousy and pain, and that's just plain scary. 10 hours ago, GDJ said: Ooh! How very Dune! Just like Padishah Emperor Shaddam IV. Don't tell me that the rock speaking lady is an analog of the Bene Gesserit? No, although it's very tempting! She's an analog of Twin Peaks Log lady. But Reverend Mother Valentina Kerman??? Whoa, that's so tempting!!! hehehe 9 hours ago, Dobelong said: Hey Jim, I'm Popping by Bop for some science, so yeah. Hope nothing happens. Actually, in my 1.0.4 game, Val did just that!!! (This is not, repeat, NOT part of the Saga...)The Kraken bore down on them, and in a act of unbelievable heroism, Val whipped out a flag pole, poked it in the eye, and thus slew the mighty beasty with a pointy stick!!! I, in some ways, pity Thompberry. He still has to pay for his actions, but he didn't deserve to become this. That's my favorite Shakespeare quote... and fits quite nicely into chapter 30. Dobelong
Okay Jim, I'm sending another one to Jool to get more science if you don't mind. Does space junk disturb the Kraken/Thompberry? I have about 14 probes around the Kerbol System. Edited February 6, 2016 by Dobelong

I'm all sorts of honored, but I don't know if it's deserved. There are a lot of players I think are way better than me, @Kuzzteris an incredibly imaginative writer, and Scott Manley makes me look like a complete dunce!!! However, having said that, I would dearly love to spend an evening with Mr. Manley drinking ale and talking science, or whatever... he's not just brilliant, from watching his videos, he seems to me like a really fun guy! 2 hours ago, Dobelong said: Okay Jim, I'm sending another one to Jool to get more science if you don't mind.Does space junk disturb the Kraken/Thompberry? Just Jim
Oh hey, I was wondering... I'm going do the math in a little while, after I've had another cup of coffee... lol... but before I do, does anyone know offhand how long, more or less, it would take a radio signal to get from someplace like Jool or Eeloo or Moho to Kerbin? It's a fairly long distance, I figure there has to be a delay.
Delfinus
Distance between Kerbin and Jool is 3.8 light minutes I think.

If you have something in Kerbin SOI you could target an object around Jool, and get the current distance. One light-second is approximately 300,000km. I was just concerned it might be hours and not minutes to communicate back and forth (realistically), especially with a Kerbin day being only 6 hours long. As for Thompberry.....At this point I really don't think he gives a fiddlers-fart about subtlety. He/it wants simple revenge, no matter the methods. He'll hit the targets first, but if innocents get in the way...oh well. In his mind, the innocent are guilty as well, but they haven't perpetrated yet. Might as well nip things in the bud and save headaches later on. Edited February 7, 2016 by GDJ
