The new magic boulders. You know, the ones that people go through and see visions?

The new colored ones I'm using mostly some creative HyperEditing.  I know it could be considered cheating, but it's the only way to make the wormhole effect seem plausible.

Have you read my thread on using HE ship lander?  The same idea works for landing and positing Magic Boulders

The floating boulders like this one are a game glitch:

And I'm starting to find them all over the place, which is great.  But also a little creepy...it's almost like the game itself is giving them to me to play around with...

Ah. Okay. Thanks Jim!

Well, the game has had several hidden features added over its history, and ground scatter is an old and esoteric piece of technology, so maybe there's some machine learning going on after your apparent intense interest...

What if they aren't glitches after all? Maybe they were, originally, but what if now the game deliberately creates them:0.0:

A couple months ago I would have said no way...

Then I drove around the Mun, and the further I went, the more I found, and now I'm not so sure... lol........  :0.0:

It's definitely something with stock planets.  In my NH game, I'm using KASE which redoes the stock planets in a style to match the custom planets.  And I've got scatter on, and haven't seen a single floating boulder.

Hmmmm... I also found floating boulders on Ovok and Karen, so it isn't just stock planets.  But I'm not running KASE, so maybe that's fixing them for you.

This is good to know, because if KASE does fix boulders, I'm not downloading or using it.

Yesterday I started reading thru some of the early chapters, and I'm not happy with it.  I was re-checking details, making sure I have all my facts straight and haven't forgotten any sub-plots before I finish this next chapter, and that part's fine.  But I have to be honest, my writing itself is sloppy, especially concerning paragraphs, or the lack thereof.  I suppose back then I didn't know what to expect, or how many people would or wouldn't like it, so I didn't care as much.

But a lot of people are reading this now, and I'm taking it a lot more seriously, so I think it's about time I went back and polished things up.  I'm not going to change the storyline or anything like that.  Everything I wrote is set in stone. I just need take a day or 2 to clean up the sentance and paragraph structure.

Hey everyone, I spent the day cleaning up the spelling and grammer and such, and the first 30 chapters are done. I didn't change the story, other than a word here and there, so no-one has to go back and re-read anything unless you want to. I just fixed some spelling and grammer mistakes and such, and tried to make everything a little more consistant and easier to read.

I also added a "Return to Index" link at the bottom of each chapter to make navigating around and skipping over comments easier.

Tomorrow I'll pick up where I left off and hopefully get the rest done by the end of the day.  :D

Looking forward to the next chapter. I'm sure it'll be very interesting judging by the amount of work you're putting into it. :)

Not all of them.  (grammer?)

Hmmm... that snuck by... and no red squiggly line???

My spell checker is turned off!  How did that happen?

Thanks.  Part of what I'm doing is also double checking all my sub-plots and such from early on, so I can continue to bring everything back together and not leave any kudzus dangling out there.  At this point I think I have all of them accounted for.

The only thing I'm still wrestling with is who's POV to do this next chapter from.

I've been running Revamped Stock System on mine, but I don't know about floating boulders. I will say, it adds new moons to Jool and adds a "Tyko" crater to the mun's surface. Might be worth checking out.

I have to make this quick.  Real life got in the way today, and now the typical afternoon storm is rolling in, so I didn't get any pages updated.  I'll work on them tomorrow.

However, something really cool did happen today that definitly affects the story:

Spoiler

The last missing expansion packs I needed for the Sims2 arrived today.... finally!

It will take a little while to get everything set up, but one way or the other, a cute little green alien girl will definitly walk among us for a while...

....and I'm pretty sure y'all know who it is by now...

Ok, I'm gonna say it. The Magic boulders that @Just Jim uses aren't the REAL Magic Boulder(s). They're ships with the ascetics of the Magic Boulder. It would be too laborious to alter the code of the game to move the Magic Boulder WITH 2 Kerbals to so many locations.

The red and green boulders could be considered new-style Magic Boulders, I suppose. Ones that were intruduced with the last update.

In terms of the storyline, I'll be getting into how they move around, and can transport stuff thru them, and the connection between the colored boulders and floating boulders, in the next couple chapters.

I just finished re-writing all 60 Emiko Station chapters!
I cleaned up and polished the format, and made everything more consistent, and hopefully easier to read.
But I didn't change the story itself, so while I invite y'all to go back and see if you like how it looks, there is no "required reading" so to speak. I swapped out a word here and there, but the plots remain the same. I also spotted and corrected an embarrassing amount of mistakes, but I probably still missed some…

Oh, I also added a new "Return to Index" link at the end of each chapter, to make navigating a little easier.

OBEY THE MOTHER ROCK!

*Tinfoil Engages*

Thinking about it, The first disturbance with the floating boulders occurred on the surface of Bop. Is it possible that the entity communicating with Thompberry wasn't the spirit of a Kraken, but was, in fact, a much more powerful life form speaking through Bop itself? :0.0:

Maybe it IS Bop! Maybe Bop is...THE MOTHER ROCK!

OMG!!!

Emiko Station is now, by definiton, a novel!!!

This afternoon I did something I should have a long time ago, back all the text into a Word document, just in case something bad happens to the forum. I did, both by chapter and one huge Emiko Complete.

So I looked it up, and The Nebula Awards catagories for writing are as follows:

Short Story: under 7.500 words
Novelette: 7,500 - 17,500
Novella: 17,500 - 40,000
Novel: over 40,000 words

According to the word counter in Word, Emiko Station has 76,034 words total!

Emiko Station is officially a book!!!
