Need help with a .gif

Animated (I've never seen a non animated gif), and I didn't make it. I found it on the Internet. PM me if your up to it.

Lol. I guess I'm showing my age here. There was a time gifs where about the only way to get high quality images with realistic colors, hahaha! I will pm you.

The outside of that box seems to be 150×150 pixels. So let me make another one that is exactly that size...

This one is exactly 150×150 pixels. At least theoretically it should fill up the entire box. Because it’s actually smaller than the previous version I was able to keep the color count up while maintaining the same file size!

The weird thing is that is shows up as a squished rectangle... not square, as the actual image is. Mmmh... Perhaps one of the forum meisters can shine their light on it?

Wish I could, IPS4 seems to want to mess up avatars, mine's badly compressed and I can't fix it.

I don't know how to fix it, also my avatar was wider than tall, but when selecting it IPS presented a box to select the area displayed.

Perhaps if you try a wider gif you can get IPS to show a square section of it.

That's an idea.

If need be, is it possible from the mod's side to revert a profile pic? Or view a history of user's pictures uploaded?

But could you revert? If this new profile pic thing goes bad, I would like my liberating moon back.

Looks like I don't have an option to revert to prior profile pics, you'd have to reupload your image.

Bah. That's going to be a challenge seeing the computer I uploaded it from is in dire shape and needs repair work.

I think you will have to accept my preference to being a total pedantic donkey and point out that it's "librating" and not "liberating"...

Since in the process of trying to figuring out what the image size needs to be I did download your original Avatar. If I have a few spare minutes I'll see what can be done about the white border there.

Well for a whopping 35kB in file size increase (50-something now in total) I made it a bit bigger and hopefully better looking...

Well, knowing now what works and what doesn't, why don't you give the "pong" picture another try?  (100×100 pixels, no optimization as that seems to trigger problems)
