What can be in next update?

Hi, i Wonder what would be in the NeXT update, or ideas of what it would be in the NeXT updates, (for example air drag outside of the atmosphere, whitch makes Limited Lifetimes of satelites and adds orbital decay, until it has sinked down to the atmosphere...) does anyone have ... ideas ...

I dont think that exosphere-drag will ever be implemented into the game along with n-body physics.
Both would be a nice touch, but they would turn out to be a pain when you find your SpaceStation de-orbited while you were timewarping over 200days to get something to Jool.

Now exaggerate that though when you have hundreds of flights in progress.

But not just 200 days, exosphere-thermosphere drag can behold a ship over 1000 years in orbit if very high up... but With Kerbal Alarm Clock we can set a alarm when the ship several hour before touching the atmosphere...! And i will not like a satelite orbit forever and be a forever-space-junk plus crashing my game With several hundred Craft in orbit!

That sounds like mod territory to me. Post a thread in the addons suggestion thread and see if someone can make that for you. It might not be possible though. There are limits on the minimum amount of force the game can apply.

Btw, you might want to try the Principa mod. It adds N body phisics and extended body gravitation. A bit buggy, from the sounds of it, but definitly interesting:

And then we just reguarly burn a tiny bit a fuell for every single craft in orbit. Would be an arduous and painfully pointless experience. No point in a space game where you want more than a minimum of abstraction from reality (which KSP does a lot). Even stuff like Orbiter does allow you to disable orbital degradation, which is very recommended.

RSS wouldn't work very well either, it tends to create memory issues, so reguarly loading crafts is a pain.

Nonono, i mean if it is a spacejunk or a ancient satelite i doesnt care, if it is a mothership i will not just Park it 300-400 km up but out of the exosphere (over 10000km) where it is no drag, if it is a station without crew i can just follow it burns up in the atmosphere, if With crew, all the crew into the Return ship and deorbit before the station hits the atmosphere... whoo, talkin much and complicated, but now you know what i mean!

But why is it recommended to disable orbital degradation in Orbiter?

Because you want there to be an ISS when returning to earth after a long mission.

That is why you deorbit your old satellites and debris from your launch...Plus, with orbital decay, if you have a lot of crafts in orbit, you would have to regularly keep tabs on your crafts orbits...

So instead of just manually deorbiting junk you don't want (one piece per launch on average) you'll have to do stationkeeping multiple times per year per LKO satellite/station.

Sounds like adding a lot of grind for either a sacrifice on The Holy Altar Of Realism or to solve a problem that doesn't really exist.

My guess?  It becomes part of Apple's development strategy for a new generation of operating systems.

(Am I really that old?  Yes I am.)

Unfortunately there is no emoticon for "rimshot". So I'm just left with

Boom-tish!

I know what I'd like in the next update.

KAC and docking alignment indicator integrated into stock.

Stock base parts, like habs, greenhouses etc.

Clouds on Kerbin and the other atmospheric bodies.

This. Also action group editing "on the fly"

What is on the slate for 1.2 is something like an antenna range/remote tech system, as well as a rocket part revamp.

Completely agree with Ad hoc Action group editing.

I'm not hugely fussed about the antenna range stuff (at least while we still have no effective base parts, yet contracts requiring bases). But I know others are pretty keen, so it will probably be a good addition. I like how it will give me a reason to keep all those satellites in orbit that contracts require. Currently I send them, get the contract completion, then return them to Kerbin for the scrap.

A graphic overhaul of the rocket parts should be nice. I don't dislike the parts as they are now, but I've been impressed by what they have done with the plane parts.
