Frybert
I'm predicting a landing but it'll tip over. I'll be pleasantly surprised to be wrong, but I just don't think the barge landings are going to work as well as they are hoping.

Jasper_f
Looks like we will not see live footage from the landing attempt. That is really unfortunate.
KerbonautInTraining
Flight controllers are silent. That's not a good sign. Still no word on the 1st stage. 2nd stage successfully inserted into orbit. Edited January 17, 2016 by KerbonautInTraining
KerBlammo
They're going to need a bigger boat.
CatastrophicFailure
Camera signal loss is a bit ominous I think.
KSK
No telemetry from the second stage either - not sure if that is deliberate.

Kartoffelkuchen
You could clearly see the first stage firing its engine when the stream freezed. Then maybe the rocket crashed into the barge and stream was cut anyway then. I assume the worst, but hey, it's an experimental landing on a barge, which obviously moved quite a bit
sgt_flyer
could the droneship have lost his communications during the landing attempt due to vibrations (or the exhaust frying the antennas) ? - seems the signal was lost just as the droneship got hit by the exhaust. KerBlammo
The video froze just as reflection of the engine flame appeared in the lens. The barge was moving a lot, it has to be nearly impossible to land a rocket on that.

Wingman703
Lack of reactions from FC leads me to think that: 1. Literally no one knows what happened, complete signal loss, waiting on data 2. RUD.
Jasper_f
Given that everyone is still behind their computers instead of high-fiving each other, I take it the landing did not go smoothly. Perhaps another Scott Manley dub is in order: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KRsufOoNOIQ ?
Scotius
Maybe exhaust damaged the antennas?
The Yellow Dart
AUGH! That freeze almost seemed like it was deliberate. Come on, just tell us if you don't want to show us. We're big boys. We can take it. I understand. I don't think tipping after landing will be as much of an issue as the difference in height second by second. It has to be near zero velocity for the legs not to get damages and that would be like going down stairs and one step is 3 inches lower than expected. Here is a pretty cool video of the launch from above the sea of fog: https://twitter.com/bayourat/status/688797191649931264
Kartoffelkuchen
Doesn't SpaceX have its recovery time near the barge? Maybe they can just ship over and see what's going on... probably already doing that
