I made a skycrane-like landing vehicle using mostly your parts. I'm using it to deploy mobile Kethane scanners.

Tell me what you think!

Please can someone create for me a file with all the plugins for the Satellite pack? For 0.16. Thank you! :)

Why did it play rkman's ion engine sound during skycrane separation?

That's the small SRB thrust sound that those radial retro boosters use, dunno if it's the actual ion engine sound or not, it's what's included with the pack.

Update

Kethane is coming along quite well, code is getting better and better. I just had a freelance job of 30h in within 2 days so I'm kind of broken now. Sunday we will continue with development. I will update main thread with our status.

Hey guys, thanks for the fun addon, I've enjoyed it so far. Two questions:

First: how long does it take to fill a tank? Have I been missing kethane sites, or do I need to wait for a bit?

Second: Can you make the map easier to use and show the current vessel's position on it? Hard to tell if you're on a deposit right now or not. :)

Hey I have a problem, I set a rover on minimus with a kethane scanner and controler after driving around for like 15 mins I still didn't find a kethane deposit, I Know that in your known problems it said mechjeb causes problems, is this most likely my problem, also do scanners work from orbit?

Kethane deposits are rare enough that you need to scan from orbit first. Using a rover landed without knowing where a deposit is located there is very little chance you'll drive over one. Mechjeb doesn't cause any problems for me, I have Kethane sattelites, landers, rovers and planes all working fine with various Mechjeb modules.

I thought I would share this here - after finding it with a satellite and landing a permanent miner, I sent a Kethane Hauler to add some to the tank I'd installed on the satellite; It'll be used to top off the RCS fuel it uses for orbital maneuvering.

When I make a kethane map and switch craft it's erased. Is that intentional or not? Am I doing something wrong?

We are aware of the issue and we are looking into it. However it is something that is rather rare.

1. Depends how many miners you have and which tank you are using XD

2. We are already working on it, as I stated, this version was to get the solid code out, and next version will have a perfectly new interface

Mechjeb doesn't cause problems with Kethane pack, also you don't want to drive around with a rover to look for kethane pockets. If you are doing that you could still look after 3h and find noting, you need satellite to scan the area.

Is it possible to create an addition to the payload pack that is a super thin version of the base piece/adapter? I really like the pack but for some reason that adapter piece bugs me.

Nop sorry, however try it to flip upside down and then place it, you will still be able to put the payload fairings and you barely see the adapter.

Currently it isn't much weaker then the regular liquid engine. I suggest you have to make your vessel lighter/smaller. Also All electrical energy elements will eventually go to the Energy Plugin. I will give link ones they incorporated our models into their package.

Thanks I made a sat that could go to minmus using only 1/4 of the batteries! :P
