I've also noticed that both Mars and Venus atmospheric pressure appears to be 0.6667 atm ASL (At least that's what it says in the tracking station) when in reality Mars should be more like 0.006 atm and Venus should be more like 90 atm... Titan also seems to have an atm ASL of 0.6 when it should be more like 1.45 atm. With that all being said I've also noticed that all of the Gas Giants seem to have 15 atm ASL.. Which is interesting. So all in all I'm planning on doing some custom configs for this that rescale the planets and their attributes on a per planet / moon basis in order to get as realistic numbers as possible. I'll post the config here when I've finished it. All planets are based off their kerbin counterparts, so... Venus = Eve and Mars = Duna etc. @OhioBob did all the changes personally, so they should be fine. 11 hours ago, noob said: Hello, First, let me thank you for making this mod. It's awesome! I read through the thread and saw that Earth's atmosphere is 70km to be the same as Kerbin, but mine shows 61km. Also, does this mod change how rockets/planes fly? I ask because my craft files are flying differently than normal. It should be 70k, havent played with the mod in the newest update but unless they changed atmospheric things, everything should work. OhioBob
The reason people are reporting that Earth's atmosphere is 61 km is because Settings.cfg has Atmosphere = 0.70. To work correctly with the atmosphere configs, Settings.cfg should have Atmosphere = 0.80.

Titan also seems to have an atm ASL of 0.6 when it should be more like 1.45 atm. With that all being said I've also noticed that all of the Gas Giants seem to have 15 atm ASL.. Which is interesting. That's because of a recent change in KSP 1.1.3. Prior to 1.1.3, the pressure displayed in the Tracking Station got its value from pressureCurve. It now displays the value contained in the parameter staticPressureASL. Since the SSRSS configs were written prior to 1.1.3, the parameter staticPressureASL is undefined, therefore it's defaulting to the value of the template. The error is only in the Tracking Station display. The pressure of the actual atmospheres should be OK. @sDaZe, you should add to each atmosphere the parameter staticPressureASL so that it looks similar to the following example: // Atmosphere Pressure staticPressureASL = 101.325 pressureCurve { key = 0 101.325 0 -0.0119729 key = 1000 89.9537 -0.0107923 -0.0107923 key = 2000 79.7013 -0.00972759 -0.00972759 key = 3000 70.4691 -0.00875313 -0.00875313 key = 4000 62.1620 -0.00787633 -0.00787633 key = 5000 54.6886 -0.00708329 -0.00708329 key = 6000 47.9719 -0.00636074 -0.00636074 key = 7000 41.9470 -0.00569867 -0.00569867 key = 8000 36.5555 -0.00509376 -0.00509376 key = 9000 31.7428 -0.00453892 -0.00453892 key = 10000 27.4635 -0.00402664 -0.00402664 key = 12000 20.3407 -0.00312205 -0.00312205 key = 14000 14.8739 -0.00236992 -0.00236992 key = 16000 10.7657 -0.00175875 -0.00175875 key = 18000 7.76098 -0.00126703 -0.00126703 key = 20000 5.61289 -0.000901159 -0.000901159 key = 22000 4.08419 -0.000643110 -0.000643110 key = 24000 2.98894 -0.000462653 -0.000462653 key = 26000 2.19866 -0.000334849 -0.000334849 key = 28000 1.62536 -0.000243495 -0.000243495 key = 30000 1.20769 -0.000177736 -0.000177736 key = 35000 0.588602 -8.25983E-05 -8.24983E-05 key = 40000 0.296819 -3.96388E-05 -3.96388E-05 key = 45000 0.154692 -1.97099E-05 -1.97099E-05 key = 50000 0.0825035 -1.03082E-05 -1.03082E-05 key = 55000 0.0438832 -5.63677E-06 -5.63677E-06 key = 60000 0.0227005 -3.07935E-06 -3.07935E-06 key = 65000 0.0112807 -1.62592E-06 -1.62592E-06 key = 70000 0.00536204 -8.22892E-07 -8.22892E-07 key = 75000 0.00243557 -3.94225E-07 -3.94225E-07 key = 80000 0.00106710 -1.78982E-07 -1.78982E-07 key = 87500 0 0 0 } The values should be (in kPa): Venus, 10905.2 Earth, 101.325 Mars, 1.14497 Jupiter, 101325 Saturn, 101325 Uranus, 101325 Neptune, 101325 Titan, 159.018 Triton, 0.0165 Pluto, 0.001 The values may be higher than you are accustom to seeing because the KSP datum is lower than the real-life datum. Duski
Does anyone see the atmospheres flicker? I've also noticed that the surface of Mars is very very rough and hilly even in the flat places you see in orbit along with the atmosphere not visible from orbit. I also don't feel like i'm getting the best of my textures and they're all low res when orbiting the moon and other bodies. Help would be appreciated. The scaling causes the low res. Nothing I can do about it. As for the hilly Mars, that's the intended look. You can go into the settings cfg and change the landscape value to 1 and things should look normal. Edited July 3, 2016 by Berlin

As for visual enhancements, still questioning why I can't see Mars' atmosphere from orbit as shown in the video. Also, would you be able to use RVE for this? or won't the clouds be scaled down to Kerbin size? EDIT: Is this settings.cfg in the sigma dimensions folder? if so the landscape value is set to 1. I'll set it to zero and see what happens. Edited July 4, 2016 by Duski

No the settings in the game data folder You could use rve but you would need to adjust the cloud heights cfg in order to get the correct cloud height in game. This mod doesn't use rve so I don't support it considering its not updated yet. Edited July 4, 2016 by Berlin

I'll get some pictures up soon. Oh and a question, if I went up to 8K textures would that make the scaling causing the low res be a little higher res? Ok turns out it isn't flickering, the atmosphere just moves around when you're looking at the planet or moon when in the orbit map. But it seems fine when you are orbiting around the planet. No. The only way to "fix" it is to adjust the PQS values . Making the PQS higher will cause you to clip into the terrain and explode though. I'll need pics or videos of the flickering Edited July 4, 2016 by Berlin

Ok about the atmosphere moving around or glitching about, it doesn't do it in if your in orbit around the planet or moon. Is this because of the load and unload distance? Duski
Alright thanks for your help. I'll try use the version of scatterer included in the download see if that helps or the other And the landscape value helped. Mars seems less harsh now. But still can't see it's atmosphere from medium-high orbit. Am I able to change the atmosphere values to fix this? Duski
I got some pictures of the atmosphere glitching out. If you look to the right on the planet you'll notice the difference. Also you see that you can't see Mars' atmosphere.

Like I said for the flickering, it can't be helped. If you want a thicker atmosphere on mars you have to make a new scatterer cfg for it.

Dafni
I have an SSRSS version on an 1.1.2 install and it worked good. I got rid of scatterer and now it works great. Awesome performance and I dont even miss scatterer at all. Any news on the 1.1.3. front? Not whining, just curious? thanks

The update will come eventually. The Internet thing is really cramping my style lol I won't have Internet until the 18th but an update will be ready for sure on the 18th I hope. EDIT: (not so much an edit) I played around with some scatterer settings and used the latest version and still can't see the atmopshere but I can see the icy bluish outline on the planet which looks pretty cool. Gonna play around with some other scatterer settings and see if I can get an atmosphere to my liking. Edited July 5, 2016 by Duski

Galileo
It's does. You need the newest kopernicus. After you have that, follow the install instructions very closely. They are in the the README and also on the first page of this thread
