When you install kopernicus, the universe will surely end.

Dude, when I install that, the multiverses will end, I want at least 2 planet packs and 3 star packs, along with a ton of part packs.

Hopefully I can get a new laptop this year, who knows?

Anyway, I'm busy learning how to dock, and I'm waiting for them to get close again :)

After the failure of the Vall orbiter that turned into a flyby, Aurora Space Industry scientists decided to think closer to home, so they made a plan to send a scansat to the Mun, the first time they did it, someone was sleeping on the job, so the solar panels never got deployed, and the first probe lost power when it reached the Mun to begin the deceleration burn (That's actually what happened, look at pic 3 :) ), so the second time they made sure they deployed the solar panels once they reached space, the second time was a complete success, and Kerbalkind was now beginning a new era of space exploration, no longer will they launch probes with no other purpose than to say they went there...

They began a new operation: "Explore space, but this time with science".

Awesome! Maybe try using the SCANsat mod, it lets you create altimetry and radar scans of the planets. I love it!

Turns out my laptop can just run KSP, so I can't get mods.

I have to be stock, besides, I don't even know how to get mods onto steam or anything

After the great success of the Mun scanner, ASI scientists immediately began building a replica for Minmus, the only change being the name, everything went off without a hitch aside from the lost telemetry from circularizing the probes orbit around Minmus (AKA Really bad lag), and the scientists now looked towards Eve and Duna next, perhaps they would launch a rover to Eve, it hadn't been done before, so why not? They needed to find out why it was so purple.

Should I put a science rover on Duna, a Scansat in orbit around Duna, a science rover on Eve, or a Scansat on Eve?

I'll begin the mission after NASA's announcement from Kepler.

Duna rover, you have to!

Right on the dot!

ASI's next target was Duna, they have already sent a rover their, but they wanted science now, so they built another one, a better one, one missing a parachute for some reason. The scientists weren't creative with names, so they named it the "Duna science rover" or DSR for short, the mission went off without a hitch, and they even got a Ike flyby!

ARGH!!! I JUST WANT TO GO TO DRES!!! IS THAT TOO MUCH TO ASK!? ;.;

The first time I launched, the Boar engine caused the Mammoth to explode, the second time, the same thing happened, the third time, I put sepertrons on it, and it was just fine! Problem was... I had RCS fuel, BUT NOT RCS THRUSTERS!!! ALSO, when I tried to add RCS thrusters, KSP CRASHED! :mad:

Sigh, I'm going to try again shortly.

@SpaceplaneAddict

@Sanic

I hope you two are happy, I'm frankly getting sick and tired of relaunching the same mission, only to see something explode, or I forgot something.

I'm going to recreate the Vulcan rocket, pics coming soon.

Some of those engineers on the VAB floor must be Drescists.

The scientists at ASI decided to launch another Interstellar probe, it would be slower, but use new technologies, such as RTG's and Ion thruster's, and a new part was that there was even an unintentional Jool flyby.

So I've designed a very successful Duna lander (No pics, I'm running out of space), that's capable of easily getting into a 75,000 meter by 79,000 meter orbit around Kerbin, and returning, all I need to do is add a reaction wheel, radial parachutes on the boosters, a ladder, and a docking port so it can reconnect to the main ship, my next test will be to design a Kerbin return capsule, similar to the Orion spacecraft and service module, but before i can do that, I need to learn how to dock, so... Do you guys have any tips? The closest I got was between 300 and 400 meters, with a relative speed of 26 m/s.

Well, screw around with maneuver nodes and time warping until you get a closest approach within/around 5 kilometers. from there, slow your relative velocity to zero. After that, burn at the target until you're roughly around 50 m/s. Do corrections every 500 meters or so, and make sure to slow down back to zero within 100 meters. then, you want to stick with RCS thrusters. Make sure the two ship's docking ports are facing each other. After doing that,  set the port as a target and chase the prograde vector over the target icon in the navball and you'll basically drift onto the docking port.

So I got just outside of a kilometer, my relative velocity was 13 m/s at first, but I sped towards it, but I couldn't get the relative velocity down to 0, and I tried relying on the RCS, but I got impatient :P

How do you target the docking port?

I learned how to dock!!!! In the night too! I still need to practice, but I know how to do it1 At one point, I was extremely glad I quicksaved, because I got within 10 meters or the ship, and then it started to move away, I was so liquided off, I wanted to rage, since I couldn't get them close again, but I finally did it :)

The second pic has the KSC, but I didn't land anywhere close to it, I just waved as I passed by :)

@Andem Thanks for the help, I figured out how to target the docking port :)

Duna, here I come! Also, I might 'colonize' it, so I don't have to try and dock in LDO. :D

The ASI scientists next project was a Duna transfer vehicle which had the intent of shuttling 10 Kerbals to Duna on a one way mission to establish a permanent base on Duna, the transfer vehicle test not only got into a close orbit around Duna, it also had plenty of fuel to enter orbit around Ike, making the scientist confident it could get Kerbals to Duna.

The transfer vehicle had 2 NERV engines, 3 in a half gray tanks, a large RCS fuel container/thrusters, large battery, large docking port, 2 extra large solar arrays, and a large unmanned control probe.

Also, may I mention, it began the transfer burn, slowdown, Ike transfer, and Ike orbital incersion burn, on 2/3's of a tank because the first stage that was supposed to put it into orbit with a full tank flipped out of control when I tried putting it into orbit, and I had to use 1/3 of the transfer vehicle's fuel to put it into orbit, so it may also be capable of getting back to Kerbin and perhaps close enough to reenter the atmosphere with an aerocapture if you're good enough :)

Anyway, beauty shots, because I have some space left!

I just put the first piece of my manned Duna mission into orbit, it's the 10 person lander, with 5 mk 2 lander cans, and a cupola for them, so.... It's gonna be a bit cramped for them, it also has plenty of battery power, solar panels, and 4 blue lights. When I test launched it on Kerbin, it got close to 20 km before coming back down, and the parachutes slowed i down nicely, so I'm confident that it'll work. Next I have to put the transfer stage up, wait for a Duna transfer window, and head to Duna! After that, I'll launch a science rover that they can use to explore.

I give up trying to get the Duna transfer stage to LKO for now, it keeps going out of control, and I don't know how to keep it on course and stable.

sigh

I'm going to attempt to put a rover on Eve, that'll be easier.

I have some screenshots from my Eve science lander that's on the Explodium sea, unfortunately, imgur says that I'm sharing too quickly, even though I haven't shared anything, so you guys will have to wait about an hour.
