Heaviest payload to Orbit with least parts

Largest Payload to Orbit with fewest parts Challenge

So the aim of this challenge is to simply put KSP to it's new limits with the heaviest payload to orbit, but with a catch: use as few parts as possible for your launcher.

Scoring will be done by taking the payload delivered and dividing it by the number of parts used in the launch vehicle. Space-planes are allowed.

Scoreboard:

1. @Nefrums - 15.2

2. @joshudson - 8.2

3. @GoSlash27 - 4.6

4. @NightshineRecorralis - 2.97

This is meant to be an easy challenge that one could complete in a short amount of time. Feel free to submit by imgur albums, screenshots, videos, etc.

I cut the top off my mun launch SSTO and found I can lift 41 tons with 4 parts (5 if you want the expended booster decoupled). The launch vehicle depends on the payload providing control and battery. Fairing counted in payload as I didn't jettison it. (The normal payload for this vehicle does not require a fairing.)

Apparently you guys don't realize I'm sitting at 8.2 points.

Oh, my, that's a simple and effective design :)

EDIT: Doesn't the decoupler count as a part? Perhaps you could flip it to get rid of another component on your booster stage.

I was wondering about that myself. Why not just build a big SSTO and call the whole thing "payload"? x mass/(launch parts-payload parts)= x mass/0 =infinity points.

Also, I didn't discount my payload parts from my entry. Corrected, my score should be 4.6.

Best,

I counted the decoupler as a part because the other two did. Anyway, Nefrums beat me by being a better pilot even if he discards the decoupler. (I can't pilot well enough to get his booster in orbit.)

No entries??

Here's one to get the ball rolling:

318 tonnes to orbit/ 80 parts= 3.98 points.

I feel like you don't need the nose cones or even the smaller tanks below them. that would bring your part count down by 8 increasing your score 5.3. Just some constructive criticism.

Jason,
Yeah, you're right. I don't need the nose cones or the fins, but I do need the tanks.
It's just a lifter I had laying around and figured I'd submit it since nobody else had entered yet.
