Windows Game Mode

It appears that the up coming Windows 10 Creators Update will include a Game Mode. I am having trouble finding specifics on what that means. Indications are that it will suspend background processes and run the game in near exclusive mode, given the game highest priority over CPU, GPU and RAM. Does anyone have more details or thoughts on what we might gain?

ksp will run better, but other things running at the same time will be slower.

@ZooNamedGames: If you're not using Windows 10, it might not. But for me, and after additional research, I think it will help out anyone who is currently using Windows 10. What it will essentially do is to free up the processor and memory by deactivating unneeded and unnecessary items from running in the background, like printer DLLs, Cortana, Windows Phone Connectivity, Bing Maps, and all the twenty or so associated Windows processes that aren't needed during gaming. It's actually a long time overdue and was originally discussed by Microsoft since the Windows 95 days (at that time, the host of memory-hogging programs was no where near what it is now).

Is it going to work as well as Windows says it does? Here's the kicker - if Microsoft is going to remain cutting edge in the operating systems market, it has to become more streamlined than what it is currently. It cannot be the memory and processor hog it currently is. I also wish Windows 10 had a way to permanently deactivate features that I will never use on a laptop or tablet, such as Skype, Microsoft Phone, Bing Maps, and all the other "trinket" and gadget programs.

I've got Windows 10. It's like a cancer. Microsoft keeps trying to put bandaids on it but it doesn't fix the bigger problem, Windows 10.

Windows 10 is not the problem for the most part. It is actually a big step forward. There are many good things about Windows 10 I like, then there are some features I miss about XP (like the Settings Transfer Wizard). I think that Windows 10 is probably as good as XP was; it is definitely better than Vista and, 7 and 8 in many non-gaming aspects. This new patch will be bringing it into line with competing Apple and other operating systems when it comes to gaming. True, there is a lot of things Windows could be better at, but at least they are willing to work on their platform to make it better.

Doesn't have much impact considering I use a 1.5GHz AMD APU (for those who don't know, a APU is a CPU and GPU merged into one, but with the benefits of neither). So, yet another update that has little to no impact to me.

It has impact for you as background programs will get less resources letting the game get more.
it will not have much impact on people with an I7 and an 1080 GPU unless they play multiple games at once.
