Trouble at Neidon

Recommended Posts

Need some help figuring out what I have done to mess up my game. I use Outer Planets Mod. As of today all my planets and moons have turned into Mun. Even the opening screen is Mun. The Space Center screen still looks normal.

Yesterday before leaving the Plock system I added Kyx and Beros from Xen's planet pack. They orbit Plock. All was fine. Left Plock for Urlum. Visited all moons. Still good. Transfer to Neidon. Then on to Thatmo. Quit for the night but all was normal. Today started with a shiny Thatmo, just like its picture. As I burned to return to Neidon, before heading for Nissee, I noticed Neidon was now Mun. Once transferred to Nissee it too is Mun. As is everything in the known system. Help?

I did remove Xen's pack and restarted without success. The only other recent addition was Probes Plus but I have used it for a few days without a notable incident.

When I find it I'll let you know, but I've seen mention of it in the KSP today thread, now it's happened to myself and a partner in a PM.

I have a copy of KSP with very few mods installed, unaffected, and my mod-heavy game has the problem.

Same thing happened to me last night.  I was working on a new planet I'm making, when suddenly every object in the system was Mun.  I have a separate install for planet making with only a dozen mods in it, and so far I discovered that the problem occurs if I have both OPM and Sigma Binaries at the same time.

I didn't know others were experiencing the same thing, I was editing EVE configs and assumed something I did broke it.  I have not yet had a chance to do any further testing though.  I'd like to try in a clean install with only OPM, Sigma Binary, and any dependencies (Kopernicus, maybe Module Manager).  I did download some mod updates, but I don't remember off the top of my head what those were.

It was suggested that purging installed mods fixes it. For those of us who really love our mods and don't use CKAN that'll be quite an undertaking. I still have my two games in their varying states with varying modlists. neither have very much but it may help to post and compare them.

I developed this problem today with one of my three KSP installations.  My Stock and Development installations are unaffected, but the problem occurred in my GPP installation.  After trying several possible fixes, and failing each time, I just deleted it and started over with a fresh installation.  For me that wasn't too bad because I only had about 20 mods installed.  After getting everything reinstalled, it's working correctly again.  I just hope the problem doesn't reoccur.

I would like a picture of the Mun orbiting the Mun please.

I didn't take a screenshot of that, but I did take one of this...

I got it!  I suspect we're being pranked.

Tried with a clean KSP install, only Sigma Binary and Outer Planets, plus their dependencies (Kopernicus, Module Manager, and Modular Flight Integrator).  Either mod on it's own was fine, I only had the problem with both together.  But I've had both mods together forever without any problems, so on a hunch I set my computer's system clock back a week.  Guess what?  Problem fixed!  so then I set it ahead to tomorrow, and still fixed!  Clock back today, and the problem returned.  Given that it's Valentine's Day, It looks deliberate.

I sure hope you are correct. Tomorrow will tell. Nyan cat strikes again? I'll not attempt fixing or deleting anything until some time passes.

By the way I love the name and the avatar. I found myself singing the song.

My crimefighting covers up a basic insecurity.

Anyway, in the meantime, I've deleted Sigma Binary from my work install.  The planet I'm working on at the moment doesn't need it, so I don't even notice it's gone.

If this kinda thing happens on Valentines, imagine what MM will do to us on April Fool's.

*kalmly awaits*

I'm shuddering as I write. Danger Will Robinson! Danger!
