GhostboyDB
Have you ever not known what to do in sandbox mode? have you ever wanted to use GAP or DCA for contract configurator, But not wanted to pay for crafts, or do research? Me too. That's why I'm asking for a tweak, because I don't know a thing about how to mod. I would appreciate a tweak to sandbox mode that adds the ability for you to get contracts.Say For DCA you want to do an attack on the island, or something but you want to use The nimitz from CVX or the Enterprise from aircraft carrier accessories. those things cost millions, and you don't want to spend that much on one contract, plus the cost of the aircraft. this is why i think it would be really helpful to allow you to open mission control in sandbox mode. although you would have to make the menu for contracts available too, it would be so much fun! Streetwind
With a minute or two in setup work at the start, you can create yourself a "career sandbox" without the need for any mods. Simply start in career mode, and use the Alt+F12 menu to give yourself whatever funds and science points you need to max out all the buildings and unlock the entire tech tree. Add some reputation as well, so you get good contract assignments (or don't, if you want to work your way up yourself). Then keep adding more funds until your bank account is so well stocked that you aren't gonna run out anytime soon. And if you ever do run out, you can always add more. And voila, there's your career sandbox! You can: - build vessels without any constraints by parts or funds - adopt strategies if you want, but you don't have to - do contracts if you want, but you don't have to - transmit science experiments if you want, but you don't have to The only prerequisite to unlocking the full contract spectrum is that you need to get a vessel outside the atmosphere once. And remember: the further you fly, the further away the contract system will generate goals for you. If you want to do satellite contracts in Kerbin orbit, you should probably avoid going interplanetary for a while. Else you may be asked to do satellite contracts at Duna instead. JadeOfMaar
@GhostboyDB @Streetwind Quote Description: This mod allows you to lock your funds and science at max, and also is bundled with complete reversibility. If that isn't enough, it also allows you to upgrade all buildings and topple the tech tree, again with full reversibility. It is a phenomenal mod for people who want to utilize some aspects of a career game (such as Kerbal Leveling) but without having to worry about money. I know you can partially do this with the debug menu, but I believe this can be much more elegant and again, has more features.
