kerbiloid
If overturn it, we could correct the Earth orbit to make the summer longer.
CatastrophicFailure
Last-second abort on Delta-IV Heavy, will take days to recycle, meaning SAOCOM 1B is also delayed several more days. [Excrement.]

Of course they could build a test superheavy with a starship thrust puck for a quick test hop, but I don't really see the point, (unless they are in a rush to build a super heavy for publicity reasons). (Also if super heavy still has 7 gimballed engines in the center, then I would expect that to be a central engine, plus 6 surrounding engines. Shouldn't that arrangement result in a visibly different thrust puck from starship?) You might be right. I was thinking that they (people taking pics) might not notice thickness changes in stock just from seeing it. Forgot about the different arrangement. RCgothic
Huh: SpaceX super-Sunday apears to be still on! I was sure SAOCOM couldn't go ahead with NROL in the southern trajectory hazard areas. Edited August 29, 2020 by RCgothic

RCgothic
It's not a big payload to be dog-legging south and returning to LZ-1!
Entropian
Wait; it's doglegging? EDIT: Yeah, it is. Man, that's a lot of extra dV. Edited August 29, 2020 by Entropian
StrandedonEarth
Dogleg shouldn't eat up too much dV depending how much eastward speed they put in before the turn Bigger question: Are they doglegging on the way back too? E: Maybe doing the turn aerodynamically? Edited August 29, 2020 by StrandedonEarth
.50calBMG
Dogleg on the return may be easier than you would think with all the aerodynamic control it has, just crank it over after the entry burn. Falcon 9 glides pretty well for a rocket, and they already do somewhat of a dogleg anyway for their normal landings, just more vertical than horizontal. Besides, a bit of extra lateral G loading won't hurt, not after seeing what CRS-17 made it through without breaking up. Makes you wonder if that mission gave them the confidence to try a launch like this? Edited August 29, 2020 by .50calBMG

RealKerbal3x
If they want to build a Super Heavy by October, then I'd reckon steel rings for SH SN1 are already in progress inside the fabrication tents... (also, let's hope the hop happens today )
