On discord we were kinda freaking out as we realized that SECO was about 300m/s short of orbital velocity, but then we remembered that the Livestream value is surface velocity and not orbital velocity, and breathed a sigh of relief.

Very nominal launch! :D

Remember the times when we felt anxiety before every landing? It's gone now - and it pleases me. :)

I'm glad to watch space flights becoming as non-exciting as airplane landings.

I still feel a pang of anxiety for every launch…

Thank you for choosing SpaceX Space Delivery. We get you to orbit.

Something I didn't expect was the ESA is sending up astronauts with Axiom. It's using the exact same hardware, but I wonder what the organisation is RE: monitoring/mission control?

Lol, just give it to the Artemis fanboys. I mean, to be quite honest, this is a very simple trick NASA pulled. "Just don't say how delayed our stuff is, and we will look good!"

In other news, media literacy is at an all-time low, evidently.

This happens on most every construction project too. Everyone is behind and its kind of a game of chicken to see who has to cop to the clients.

It’s a way for ESA to get more “space time.” Their number of seats to the ISS is limited by the agreements, so this is a way for them to get up there more often.

Yeah this does seem like a much more elegant solution.

The only question in my mind is what kind of issues are they going to have at the interstage for reuse. There mot likely will be a not negligible mass penalty for additional shielding.

And the NASA dragon launched seats are also limited by budget and agreements.
More an issue Soyuz is not an option today  because.
Axiom bypassed the NASA seats on dragon.

Yes but why?
Guess we are not looking at the cooling plate as they are assembled in place.
Could it be some sort of mobile scaffolding for servicing the engines?

Yes, that's exactly what this is. It rolls under the OLM, the wings fold out, and then it's hoisted up to engine level.

Are they planning a test of the whole system once everything is installed? That would be cool to see ahead of the next booster static fire. I saw a graphic earlier today that showed most of it was installed already.

Its pretty sure they will test this system before they put rockets on top of it.
