That makes up some for the debris creating Russian ASAT test previously I suppose. All's well that ends well, as the Bard wrote

Codraroll
It would be a tremendous PR hit if the mission were to fail, at a time where the Russian government really doesn't need more PR hits. So that might compel them to do the quality assurance process properly to maximize the odds of success. Then again, it could also be that the desperation for a PR win compels them to launch it now, odds of success be damned. Bad news can always be buried. Nobody would even notice, except some internet forum experts. It's too far from the daily routines, and those who can be PRed are PRed by other things than moonar landers. kerbiloid
Just a thought... Previously, when the 30-years old Nauka had docked, the ISS started unplannedly rotating. Now I start worrying about the Moon...

So NASA delays a project for 20 years and we get James Webb and Roscosmos does it and gives us a 90's era lander?

DDE
The supreme conspiracy theory peddlers from REN-TV break new ground: their CGI rendering of Luna-9 lands on the Moon complete with the retrorocket, and the museum stand. https://t.me/space78125/1950 Check your staging... Almost all VA TKS depictions in KSP mods and so include the red support structure on its hatch door, actually never mounted on it in flight. It's just for the rescue team to softly open the jettisonnable hatch door on ground. Edited August 14, 2023 by kerbiloid

Minmus Taster
I must say I really like the design of the new Luna program probes, Scott Manley had a good infographic on his video on the lander (dates are of course prior to delays);
DDE
Oleg Platonov flunks medical and is off the backup crew for MS-24. No replacement, Ovchinin now acts as backup for both Kononenko and Chub. Flight still on for September 15. https://t.me/roscosmos_gk/10472
