Gargamel
I haven’t mentioned this before, but I work/ed with a couple guys who worked at FF. Apparently they’re related (uncle-ish) to one of the chief investors or something like that, one was a manager and the other a machinist. Both of them used to work in this facility, moved to FF back when, and since returned to here, for reasons I haven’t asked about. Talking to the machinist today, he was telling me he programmed and machined all the valves and combustion chambers on the Blue Ghost Lander. Said even though he no longer works for them, he’s still nervous about when it comes time to light that engine.

I’d be pretty nervous too, although I would think/hope everything was tested first

darthgently
I posted this in the CLPS topic but seemed appropriate to put here also given it is a landmark event for Firefly

AckSed
Do people think Blue Ghost would last beyond lunar night and wake up again? My fingers are lightly crossed.

It needs a small turbine APU that starts on hypergolics. Or better; a small version of the below that uses something cheaper with a shorter half life https://science.nasa.gov/science-research/science-enabling-technology/technology-highlights/high-efficiency-stirling-convertor-demonstrates-long-term-performance/
