What if kerbals are humans who survived a full out nuclear war, and has mutated so much that their skin conrains chlorophyll and pigments for absorbing ionizing radiaiton?

Hmm I wanted to do some in depth discussion about the origin of kerbalkind...

I always thought that kerbal kind began at earth,A long time ago from now.But after an unknow accident,The kerbals fleed from earth and came to Eve(If we follow the before kerbin lore and the Expedition eve lore).But not all kerbals could come to the new solar sistem.A quarter of the kerbal population was left at earth.After many years they became humans.

I don't have any links for you, but there have been quite a few threads on this concept.  Give those a peruse if you can find them, and I don't think anybody would object to one being necro'd if the bump was on topic and informative.

To me, the kerbals are a race of human-like beings that originated, and are still living, on an exoplanet in a star system like ours in another galaxy, or another universe altogether.

If it's already started (I mean deep thinking about Kerbals), then here's the story:

Kerbals appeared on the Earth, but then due to inappropriate climate and living conditions moved to another planet called Kerbalisium. It's a race that tried many planets on its way to Kerbalisium. Mars was the first one to try.

Weird stuff, but I like the idea of Kerbalisium.

I think that Kerbals unknowingly being inside a simulation of a solar system is deep enough.  Like some kind of Matrix.  Kerbals could not exist in reality, and their universe and society is cartoonishly human-like.  But from their point of view, they are real and alone in the universe, unaware of the human forces that compell them to get into poorly designed rockets with little to no contingency plans.
