Dante80
what happend with Atmospheric Efficiency% ? did you delete it? it was in some older version of your mod, and now i cant find it...If you are using FAR it does not work and is also not needed (using terminal velocity and efficiency to adjust TWR does not work, since you need A LOT of TWR to match and at that point you are having serious aerodynamic problems with the rocket). Superfluous J
what happend with Atmospheric Efficiency% ? did you delete it? it was in some older version of your mod, and now i cant find it...It's in Surface. Maybe you disabled it? Make sure Surface is showing and then click the options link on the bottom of the KER window.
Serdic
Hi folks,I wanted to take a moment and go over my problems with installing Kerbal Engineer and other mods, and what the problem was. I didn't see the same discussion in the previous 10 pages. As indicated in the instructions I copied the files to the GameData directory, without mucking about, into a fresh install of KSP 0.22. I then re-researched the new parts on the career mode and saw them in the science tab. However, when I added the part to a module, nothing showed up. The same occured for MechJeb. The root cause was because I didn't have root, or at least administrator permissions.Specifically, I had installed KSP to the Program Files directory, and answered the nag screen about requiring system administrator permissions to perform such a vile act. I answered the same nag screen when I copied the files to the GameData directory. What I needed to do to get it all working was to right click on my KSP folder and ensure that the Users or at least me, had full control of the directory. Once I did that, everything showed up as expected.Cheers,-Serdictl;dr - got root? Edited December 1, 2013 by Serdic Wording - permissions, not positions. xtoph
Hi all,I just started with KSP 0.22 a month ago and love it. Engineer Redux is the only plugin I'm using and it is a great tool. But I have a serious problem right now: Jebediah is out of fuel in a capsule orbiting the sun. I really want to mount a rescue mission but his capsule doesn't show up on my flight engineer rendezvous menu. Am I not supposed to get a "vessel" category? I only see "debris" and "celestial body"? Just trying to figure out if this is a bug or something I am doing wrong.I can rendezvous to 3 different pieces of "5th flight" debris, but none of them show the correct distance or velocity to be the capsule.EDIT:False alarm, it's working for me now. I think the issue is that in my screenshots I was looking at the solar system but my rescue craft was still orbiting Kerbin, and I didn't have any orbiting vessels there to rendezvous with. After I left Kerbin's sphere of influence and the vessel menu became available. Now to attempt my grand rescue! rocketsBuilder
It's in Surface. Maybe you disabled it? Make sure Surface is showing and then click the options link on the bottom of the KER window.nah i didnt disable it, there is no Atmospheric strings in config menu (was 3 or 4 as i remember)thats pretty strange because it disappear after i updated versions of all my mods and added some new, on same 0.22 ksp versionas Scott Manley likes to say, ANYWAY, anyway, anyway, never mind! Camacha
In a movie I see someone using Kerbal Engineer 0.6.1.1. and that has in the SUR tab a couple of numbers: atmospheric efficiency, atmospheric drag et cetera. I use version 0.6.1.4. and I can not find those values anywhere, not in the tab nor in the settings. Were those values removed in my version or is something else going on?I would really like to use those.
KerbMav
That someone might not be using FAR.As I remember reading, the patch of KER for FAR compatibility was simply to deactivate incompatible readout when FAR was detected.
Camacha
That someone might not be using FAR.As I remember reading, the patch of KER for FAR compatibility was simply to deactivate incompatible readout when FAR was detected.Ah, bummer. The reason those values are not compatible is exactly the reason I want to know them. Oh well.
AdmiralTigerclaw
I noticed that too but didn't know it was a feature. Actually annoyed because one of the things I wanted to look at was Static and Dynamic Pressure ratings.

Motokid600
Wait so theres something that needs to be done with KER when using FAR? Because I installed FAR the other day and I noticed last night KER was acting funny. Wasn't displaying the proper weight of my craft. Had to use Mj.. jrandom
I haven't had any issues (that I've noticed, mind you) with KER. I've been running FAR since nearly the beginning of my KSP adventure (1000 hours of play ago).

cryptk
I can confirm that screaming at it does not fix Engineer Redux... There was no change in game when the part was installed other than having a chip part on the rocket (I.E. no GUI showed up or anything). Gefrierbrand
Moreover, the version for .22 also removes the naming-dialog for your ships in the VAB (did not test SPH, but I assume there as well). See the attached screenshots.Removing the part lets the dialog reappear.I also screamed at it and it did nothing exept my neighbor showing up complaining about the noise :-)
Ayelmar
I also note that when installed in the Gameplay folder, without even having the chip attacher, It seems to be messing up the normals of the terrain including buildings and the launchpad. While I was trying my first test all the buildings seem to be in their own shadows, as if you're looking through the surface texture to see the shadow cast by the structure reflected off the ground below and showing on the inside of the skin.As soon as I removed Engineer, that issue recovered.I REALLY hope this is fixed by the time I try my first Munar mission.(edit: Or maybe the normal issue is because of something else -- reoccurred even without Engineer... :-/ ) Edited December 17, 2013 by Ayelmar
Rizendell
The parts are still there in .23, but the windows do not open. GL fixing it.
arsenic87
Made a quickfix..-removed link-Just replace the Engineer.dll in the modfolder with this one. Havn't checked that all features works correctly. This is just a compile of the sourcecode that follows the mod, with the errors changed to new KSP code.I do not own, or have not created this mod. The dropbox entry will be removed once a patch is officially released, or if the devs request I remove it. pokeman
Thanks for the quickfix arsenic. Seems to be working so far, it doesn't take the adjusted throttle levels in editor into account but I somewhat expected that.
