K.R.A.S.S.H. Industries planet pack tour and airshow

Recommended Posts

K.R.A.S.S.H. Industries celebrates its 42nd craft with what will hopefully be a series of scenic flying videos, highlighting our line of unorthodox creations (motto; practicality is for the unenlightened),  while touring alien worlds with atmospheres.  These won't be reviews; just scenic tours coupled with shameless promotion of K.R.A.S.S.H. craft. The focus will be worlds with atmospheres, but we may do the occasional diversion with a rover. We shall see.

Kicking it off is our newest upload to KerbalX, appropriately named Arthur, after Arthur Dent. Sensing a gap in the market for slow aircraft that are tricky to land, we have stepped up to the challenge. Arthur is a wonderful platform for sightseeing, and is definitely a plane for those who believe getting there is half the, er, fun.  This also is a milestone for us as we are expanding our market beyond the Kerbol System, including possible parallel realities?  With the magic of the Mission Builder (also known as the infinite Improbability Drive) we are now venturing far beyond the confines of Kerbin.  First stop is Gael, the alternative Kerbal homeworld of the Galileo System.   Planned future stops will include worlds from the  Outer Planets Pack, Kronkus, Kerbol Origins, Before  Kerbin, After Kerbin, Whirligig, Odysseus and who knows what else.  Future edits will likely be a lot shorter, since this takes a bit of time to do--more like 2-3 minute tasters, but for the first one, I went a bit nuts.  Please forgive some technical issues that could be fixed, but not without more hours than I have at the moment.

Major thanks to @Galileo for creating the incredibly cool Galileo's Planet Pack, and thanks to all the other modders and developers for making this all so much fun.

Enjoy ten minutes of flying (and a bit of submarining) with the Blue Danube in the background.

LOL...  I can hear the salesperson at KRASSH now!    "THIS little beauty right over here is our special of the week!    …sure it's hard to land, but at least it's slow!"

The science sub reminded me of one of those inflatable banana things that you see boats pulling people on at the beach.

I've built enough planes now that a tricky landing is a good challenge. It forces you to really consider your speed and angle.  I do love seeing what weirdness I can make fly.  Having said that, it will take off, fly and land without SAS (something I require of most all my planes).

Actually, I've made a modified version of that sub that is also a rover. When I get some time, it will be my second entry into the A.I.R.S. Challenge.

Can't say that I've instituted the same restriction for my posted designs...  Perhaps something I should reconsider?

Our second leg commences on Tellumo, the only other oxygenated world in Galileo's Planet Pack.  With 1.9 Kerbin gravity and 10 times the atmospheric pressure at sea level, it is a stunt pilots dream.

Featuring our new Trillian reconnaissance plane,

named respectively after Zaphod's spacefaring companion, Marcus Fabius Quintilianus, the Roman rhetorician, and the fish called Wanda.
