Dandelion Flight

This was in the New York Times today. Scientists discovered that Dandelion seeds create an air vortex around them that helps them sustain flight.  Perhaps the next KSP release will inlude a Dandelion airfoil?

I'm more significantly impressed with the rig to float the seed and the camera work than the results of the study.

Summary: It's drag.

The early KSP releases contained the dandelion, boomerang, and leaf-style crafts flying even without engines...

... until Squad repaired the aerodynamics.
