ability to use a second screen

Hi.

 

I am sure this as been mentioned before.

 

Like  more than a few other users I use two screens on my PC.

 

It would be so nice to be able to have one screen on the animations and another on the map mode or say the tracking center.

Agreed, an option to use multiple monitors would be a great addition.

That said I think it is critical that the game remains optimised for single monitors.  Whilst I have two monitors, and would likely use them most of the time, many players won't have.

If I ever get my mits on a second screen my first thought would be to use it for the KSP-wiki.

I've asked for dual-display for a long time. Having my laptop show the flight screen and the big TV on the wall showing the Map mode would be ever so Mission Control-ish

There used to be a mod.......Or a way.

 

Don't quite remember where I got it. Can't find it right now. Didn't quite work for me at the time.

 

Basically it allowed to run two copies of KSP in parallel and share the same files.

They could run in parallel on two screens. My potato couldn't handle it at the time.

Now with dual cores and more.....Maybe, IDK.

 

Would rather have it native and stock.

It could be done like in Blender. You have that little + button on the side, and new parallel window appears, choose what it shows (map mode, most likely? Or IVA?), then go out of fullscreen and resize ksp window all the way to second screen.

Yeah, keep in mind that some people, like me, have different resolutions on their monitors, so double fullscreen wouldn't work for them.

Even if the only thing i could do was put mechjeb & smartASS & all those other dialogs on the 2nd screen.. that would be a HUGE bonus.

I'd love a way to play in IVA with the main screen facing out the front window, while also having another screen for a different window view. You'd really start to feel the cockpit roll with that in your peripheral vision

I had limited results with Crzyrndm's old mod in, like 1.0.5 to maybe 1.2.2?...
I just started KSP 1.6.0 with it installed, and game started OK.. I dont currently have my 2dn mon hooked up, so beyond not crashing the game, idk if it still worx fully in 1.4.0-1.6.0
just remember:
*THE MOD IS DED, AND NO LONGER SUPPORTED... SO DONT ASK CRZYRNDM TO UPDATE OR BUGFIX*
