Resource for example ships?

Is there a repository, thread or other resource that shows examples of some various craft?  From time to time I do see folks drop individual craft files here.  I really can’t remember how to actually USE them..... lol, but it’s a start.

What I would find helpful as an occasional player, and still Noob, is some ship building help and ideas.  Right now, I use a lot more dV than I will when I’m more experienced, but it could be a starting point.  I’m not sure I know where to put my science bay, and get it back to Kerbin to collect the points, for example.  I’m not sure how to put a wide, stable lander on top of a rocket that has enough fuel to even get me where I want to go.  How do we transfer the habitat to Mun to start creating a base?  

Rather than be super needy and bother the experienced players with my laundry list of questions, I’m hoping to just find a Wiki of examples.

Most of us use https://kerbalx.com/.  It's a really well thought out site where most of the membership shares vessels.

Also, if you play with your steam connection active, then there is a repository of user-created ships on steam, too.

KerbalX will provide a whole range of craft for you to try, some stock and some using a multitude of mods.  If the author has been thoughtful, there will also be a list of instructions or flight notes on how to get the best out of each craft, and what all the action group keys do, assuming the craft uses any.

If you download any of the craft from KerbalX and then start pulling them apart in the SPH or VAB, you may also learn a lot about construction techniques as well.

The WDYDIKSPT thread is another great place to get design ideas.  There's all kinds of stuff in there, at all levels of wacky and practical.

Plus there's always The Spacecraft Exchange sub-forum.  Not every post there always includes an actual ship download (sometimes they just post screenshots or whatever)... but it's pretty common to provide either a .craft download link or a https://kerbalx.com/ link.
