THE RESULTS:

dBcYlK4.png

The first race was won by nobody. The TARDIS was making 'woosh woosh' noises, but took 10 seconds to disappear before reappearing AFTER the finish line, never crossed it.

The Flux Capacitor car reached 88 MpH before the finishline and disappeared, only to return at the startline going 88 MpH.

Want to hear about race #2 ?

So unless the driver of the flux capacitor car slammed on the brakes after reappearing at the start line going 88mph, it should have won since it was fully capable of crossing the finish line

I call shenanigans ... the driver of the flux capacitor car threw the race :P

What actually happened is he set his return clock 10 minutes before the time he left in an attempt to warn himself about the Tardis pilot stealing his snacks. He did cross the finish, but 9m37s *before* the starting shot, so he was summarily disqualified due to a false start.

Well if that is the case then wouldn't it have crashed into itself on the starting line?

I think that would be the case since you can't have a false start for a car unless it is already on the starting line :0.0:

As an aside I think the operator of the Tardis must have been using floats instead of doubles when calculating the start line location

I agree that there's shinanigans as the car appears where it vanished- not where it started moving initially.

so if the car appeared 10 minutes before the start of the race after starting the race that means the car gets disqualified for not finishing the race, no?

And if that is the case wouldn't the Tardis win by default seeing as it is the only competitor that is anywhere near the finish line?

Man, the paradoxes keep building on each other

I tried to recreate this race, but only established that the Doctor is not very good at flying the Tardis. Perhaps more people are needed to help with the controls?

That is great ! is it stock ?

Yes it is all stock (including DLC). It flies using a basic landing leg Kraken drive and then a motor rotates the shell around it, to maintain orientation. Happy to KerbalX it if there's any interest.

Yeah, I'll take her for a spin. &) I might race her....
