What is firespitter?

I've seen mods and stuff about firespitter but i can only find the planes thing, is there a different firesspitter?? i m confused

Nope that's it.

In addition to the planes thing it has some libraries though, and some mods have dependencies to those libraries hence the need to install Firespitter even if you don't want plane things.

Isn't there a firespitter core that usually comes bundled with mods that only includes the functionality, but not the parts?   Usually it's not something I deal with on the user side, as the mod author  or CKAN usually handles the dependencies.

Possibly. I've seen the term "Firespitter core" before but don't think I use any of the mods that use it.

"Firespitter Core" is just the CKAN's way of extracting only the library for other mods that depend on it, it's not a separate bundle. Same as manually extracting only the dll, or unpacking Firespitter and deleting everything except.
