What's the point of the "Rate Topic" stars?

I hardly look at them. Do we really need them? If I don't like a topic then I go post somewhere else. Maybe if nobody really uses them we can have that extraneous feature removed.

Some people like them. I suggested removing the function a while back but the response was largely in favor of them. They don't hurt anything, so we keep them.

Maybe make ratings visible under a spoiler-like 'dropdown tab'. Users should also be able to hide their ratings if they want to.

The thread rating itself looks like a nonsense.
As I don't use PS4 (and even can't see why use them instead of nice and useful PC), and don't understand a word in Chinese, should the threads about PS4 and the threads in Chinese be rated 0 by me? Maybe then automatically?

I mean, rating topics are a good way to see if other people like something.
