How to Read the Funds Bar

Hi I am currently having trouble reading the funds bar. I normally play on Sandbox but it would be nice to see how much my craft cost. Does anyone know how to read the funds bar?

The cost of a rocket you're building is displayed on the lower left of the VAB/SPH screen. Will that do?

Kind of. But I am mostly trying to figure out is the cost exactly 375,000 dollars or more since that wouldn’t make since in real life.

These aren't real life dollars though. They are Kerbal Funds. They don't use the $ symbol. What makes you think they are worth the same as a dollar?

There was a discussion in the Forums about the value of KSP Funds in real money a few months back, and I believe the conclusion was more or less that there is no reasonable conversion. So you cannot even use a simple conversion factor. IIRC one example was that in game the fuel to engine price ratio is much larger than in real life.

I tried coming up with something to call them but had trouble deciding so I just said dollars.

the funds symbolis called "Funds" in game. I believe the fan name is "roots", because it looks like a square root symbol and sounds cute.

Whatever you call them they are not US dollars and your rocket does not cost  375,000 dollars. It costs 375,000 SOMETHINGS. Think of them as thousands of dollars, and your rocket costs 3.75 million. Think of them as Toyotas and your rocket costs 375,000 Toyotas.

It literally doesn't matter, except you must have that much money to launch.
