SOS! I need help with AVP and Kopernicus now!

Recommended Posts

Hi guys.. I just decided to download @R-T-B's bleeding edge Kopernicus, and @Poodmund's OPM, but I then load into the game and find out that there are no clouds, aurorae, and most of the AVP and/or scatterer shebang.  I've tried to dig around to find an answer but hey, this is what a forum is for, right? Anyways,  I also must mention that I never looked in the real in flight map and I only looked in the tracking station to only find none of the planets OPM has to offer. No stock planets were harmed however and I think that it's not in the right place even though I was careful not to make any mistakes but it's been a while since I downloaded my last mod so maybe I forgot to do somethin. Thanks!

It sounds like there may be a couple of issues going on.  If you don't see the OPM planets, it could be an installation error, or you may have installed a version of Kopernicus that doesn't match the version of KSP that you are using.  The AVP, EVE and Scatterer issues sounds like it could be an installation issue.  Could you attach a copy of your log files and a screenshot of your Gamedata folder?  That's usually enough to diagnose the issue.

Well, I was pretty careful about this, but hey, it could still be this.

No, before OPM and Kopernicus it was working just fine. I think OPm or Kopernicus pulled the trigger.

Well, I was scared it might mess something up and so then I deleted OPM  and Kopernicus, and I haven't checked but next time I load KSP and EVE and AVP (scatterer wasn't effected, sorry) aren't there, that means that OPM and/or kopernicus pulled the trigger.

I second what @hemeac said- you can create copies of KSP and put different mods in each. Make a copy (either manually by copying the folders, or if you use CKAN you can get it to clone an instance) then add Kopernicus and OPM to the copy; make sure you have the right versions of everything for your version of KSP (1.10?).

If that doesn’t work properly, get the logs and post them here.

Ok, now I tried it again on the "destroy copy" again ignoring the error and loaded the save file not caring if the kraken gets steamed (pun intended :D)  and it got stuck on the black Loading... screen with the planets.... I waited 10+ minutes it it didn't budge.

I heard of a Kraken like this before. I thought it was on the Kraken-list wiki page. But I can't seem to find it.

@JIMMY_the_DOG, you definitely have an installation error.  A lot of mods need to be installed into a very specific folder to function correctly.  I see you have multiple GameData  folders within the GameData folder as well as the ModuleManager should just be a file in the base GameData folder.  It might be worth to trying out CKAN to handle your mods.
