The Kaunis peninsula

So, ya know the really big-big peninsula east of the KSC on Kerbin? I call it the Kaunis peninsula.

The reason being finnish, my native language. You see, in finnish the word korea is not only the name of THAT peninsula, but also one of the finnish words for "neat" or "beautiful". Kaunis also means beautiful in finnish. And, the peninsula in KSP is kinda similar to the Korea peninsula on Earth (in East Asia between Japan and China).

 

So that's why i call the peninsula in KSP the Kaunis peninsula.

I've never seen an official name, so why not? Besides with the letter K, it helps to sound Kerbalized

I've always called it Korea.

I'm not sure if that's the official name or not but, you can see it's heavy influence.

 

The island near it; I call 'Steve'.

I always referred to it as being "Florida". But I guess it does look more like the Korean peninsula.
