Most of the time it's not that hard. I wrote a Newbie How-To here:

• Part One (How to add the TweakScale Config Section to a Part)
• Part Two (How to write a TweakScale Config Section that so can be added to a Part)

I tried to keep things simple, so more complex Parts with custom unknown Modules are not covered (i.e., I do not teach how to add support for unknown Modules). But if your part only uses Stock modules (or a few well known and already supported custom modules), Part Two is enough.
