Unnamed Gas Planet in feature video 2?

Recommended Posts

I once had a high contrasted and edited photo of this clip with the same theory. But after analyzing the second image about a year ago, I concluded that it looked very familiar to how Jool looked.

After some digging, I found it. (December 2020 wow that was a long time ago...)

The best evidence that this is a new planet is that ground doesn't look like any other moon that we know of (Except Laythe possibly?)

There are two clips at the start of the video which a Kerbal in-game and a plush looking at an unknown blue planet (most likely Jovian judging by the clouds)

MT, I think the first clip is just supposed to be a fun little scene of a Kerbal on the Mun with Kerbin in the background.

I think for the second clip, all signs point toward it being Jool - probably from the surface of Tylo. I think what you're seeing is a Kerbal standing on the night side of Tylo looking up at a sunlit side of Jool. Pay attention to the lighting, everything is green (green planetshine from Jool).

The best fit for a new planet is Gas Planet 2, I think.

As @Madrocketman said, it could be Jool or some other known planet.

The devs have already said that they do not intend to alter the Kerbol system from its current setup, so I don’t think it could be GP2. I personally think the one in the upper image is probably just the ringed gas planet from the trailer, at an angle where the rings aren’t visible, while the one on the lower image might just be Jool. The lighting does appear to have a slight green tint to it, after all.

I am of the opinion that it is Glumo as well.

It does have a blue-white layer in the shot, however, the reddish-tinted polar regions should be visible, and yet the entire gas giant is blue-white. Additionally, the rings would be pretty hard to hide, it would be visible at almost any angle.
