Im new on the enhanced edition of ksp i was wondering if i can get some tips for building planes.

Howdy. Your question has been moved to the Gameplay sub.

As for tips, there's a very long list of finicky little details that make KSP planes work or not. Rather than try to write them all out, how about you describe the specific problem you're having?

putting the center of lift slightly behind the center of mass

Adjust the wings until so

making sure it doesn't change too badly when you empty the fuel tanks

Good luck with that. Might help to put fuel at the front and back. If someone can figure out a good way of figuring this out more consistently, @ me.

?

If you mean for landing, heighten the friction on the back wheels.

I only realise now you were guiding them and not asking how to do all of this. Oops. Some help on balancing fuel better could be nice though.

ok, let's see more things that could be wrong.

- if the wings are perfectly parallel to the ground, they do not generate lift. you either have to angle them a bit (angle of attack), or put the front wheel higher above the ground than the rear wheels, so that the nose is pointing up on the runway.

- then you need the elevons to control pitch; at liftoff, you use them to point your nose up, and with enough lift you take off.

- of course, you need the proper amount of wing area, but it's easier to err on too much wings there, so it's unlikely to be your issue.

finally, if none of that works, try to post a few pictures and we may figure out the problems.

Really, this goes for all advice related to this game. there are so many things that could be going wrong, without clear data on your vehicle we can only list the most common ones. If it could be reduced to "tell me how to make a plane" "take part A, connect it to B and then put C in the bottom", then this would be a dumb game not worth playing.

Ok that worked thanks for the help!
