A few (3) people on the KSP reddit discord have been complaining of steam trying to run KSP.app (mac) on their PCs. This might be due to a change to the steam side in preparation for 1.12.4?

At first I just assumed this was a steam problem, however with 1.12.4 coming out shortly this might be due to someone adjusting the steam side for its release.

The people having the problem only applied to KSP.

Work Arounds:

1. Uninstall steam and reinstall (drastic thing to do with all the other games already connected)
2. Create a shortcut directly to the PC executable which is KSP_x64.exe bypassing steam completely.

1.12.4? As far as I knew, development work on KSP was completely halted after 1.12.3 and the development team either moved over to KSP2 or moved on to other things.

Here is another way to fix it and have steam work:

"D:\Steam\steamapps\common\Kerbal Space Program\KSP_x64.exe" %Command% -popupwindow

Replace the bolded type with your personal path.

-popupwindow makes it borderless. It can be removed if you don't need it that way.

Put that into the following window in Steam (right click on Kerbal Space Program in steam and click Properties):

Note the %Command% must be in there or it won't work.

This does bypass the new Launcher. If you want that to be working use the following substituting your path:

"D:\Steam\steamapps\common\Kerbal Space Program\PDLauncher\LauncherPatcher.exe" %Command%

Note that -nopopupwindow doesnt work with the launcher if you use it.

Correction for the following (note the bolded is my path and probably not yours):

"D:\Steam\steamapps\common\Kerbal Space Program\KSP_x64.exe" %Command% -popupwindow

This will break TweakScale for some reason. How to fix it is as follows:

1. Create a shortcut within the KSP folder that isn't KSP_x64 (KSP_x64_Steam will work as a shortcut name. Thanks to @Gotmachine for the correction)
2. Use "D:\Steam\steamapps\common\Kerbal Space Program\KSP_x64_Steam" %Command% -popupwindow

Enter that into the Launch Options and (crossing fingers) that will correct any problems with bypassing the Launcher enabling TweakScale and any other mod which does the same thing to work.
