Happy Holidays

This is a thread I created so everyone can share their holiday traditions. Whether you celebrate certain holidays or not, everyone is still welcome here.

I personally spend a lot of time on the 24th preparing for Christmas and cleaning up the house, then have family over on the 25th. We all open up presents then enjoy the day. After that, we go to my grandparents house and eat a large feast they prepared.

Well, enough talking from me, I’d love to hear your holiday traditions!

It's pretty much the same as in the OP, except everything happens the day before, on Christmas Eve. (it's called Бъдни вечер over here)

No family or anything because my grandpa's house is way too small for that. There is a feast. There's a big loaf of bread. In each slice there's a certain thing baked into it. (In one slice there's a coin inside, which means good luck or something like that.) The oldest person at the table hands the slices of bread to everyone else.

On Christmas Eve my family prepares for Christmas we also get a board game and pajamas and then play the game as a family. On Christmas we open presents and then visit my grandparents (both sides they live pretty close.)

I couldn’t fall asleep till 1, and now want to pass out (except that I cant)

I couldn't fall asleep either, until it was actually a time my parents would let me get up. That's when I fell asleep.

i got a usb oscilloscope/logic analyzer. despite dabbling in electronics for years ive never owned either (that useless kit scope doesn't count, it was a nice soldering project but a terrible oscilloscope). so this will open the door to some serious debugging opportunities.

i also got this hovering ball drone thing.

i got mom some cat miniatures (mama and a whole litter of kittens getting into spilled milk, its adorable), i got my cats some catnip filled jingling mouse balls, they seem to like them. there will also be catnip later.

I got a eyepiece for a telescope, a 3Dbenchy sweater, and a magnifying glass. Oh ya and from my grandma I got an apple gift, but I don't own an apple device...

I made a panettone from scratch!!! I am honestly shocked at how well it came out. I was expecting something decent, but not as good as what you buy from stores, but I nailed it. Spot-on. I am very surprised and happy. In terms of gifts, I couldn't think of much I needed, so I got a handmade bag for sheet music and stuff as well as a jar of biscotti.

I've made bread before nothing like that but basic breads, and they are so good!
