I'm hopeful

Seeing and playing KSP 2 on patch 1.5.0 was very pleasant experience, I just did the same mission I have done on all previous versions: an apollo style Mun landing mission and back to Kerbin.

This patch was the first patch I was able to actually complete this mission without any major issues that would otherwise compromise gameplay, so I just wanna say that I'm hopeful things are going in the right direction.

Never wasn’t hopeful.  The doom and negativity and angst is simply not credible - overwrought gamer/Reddit groupthink.

Um... No.

The criticism and disappointment I expressed back when was real.

Still not coming back to the game until after Science drops - and maybe not until after the first or third patch thereafter.

I wasn’t talking about the disappointment: I get that.  I wasn’t super thrilled with 1.0, even after tempering my expectations over the delays, EA announcement and initial minimum specs.  I’m talking about the hilarious overwrought angst-fest the disappointment triggered.  I’m talking about not falling for the forum-think, and understanding that the doomsayers haven’t got any inside knowledge and are just venting.  Disappointment is one thing, but now that it’s becoming more and more obvious that IG are finding their feet and making progress, in retrospect all the drama and histrionics after the EA are going to look silly, and the game is going to be fine.

8 months since launch, and I have less than 20 hours on the game.

Disappointment and criticism is completely legit, as it is to wait for the game to be ready for what we intended to do with it. Personally I'm more "trying and testing" the game at each update, I'm not playing KSP2 because the stuff I want is not out yet, maybe I'll do a long-ish run when science drops, but no more than 20-50 hours in it (Just like I'm not playing Factorio because I'm waiting for the Space DLC or DSP because I want the war and enemies update).

Another thing altogether is the forced negativity, having to declare that every single sentence said from the devs is a lie, that everything will go bad, that everything sucks, arguing for weeks and weeks about how bad the situation is. That isn't helpful, makes the forums (here, discord, Steam, Reddit) practically useless, and isn't healthy for anyone involved.

If you think the devs scammed you, that they're untrustworthy liars, then refund the game, leave your negative review and go on, why are you even wasting your efforts on something you don't believe will ever be good?  Or is it that the endless arguing, the flaming, the controversies are more engaging than actually playing the game, any game?

If that's the answer, log off social media, disable all notifications, remove the apps from your phone if you have too (I personally have strict time limits with the digital well-being feature of my phone, and I delete my Reddit account every 2 months) and read that book you never have time to read. Write down that Plot Bunny that has been bugging you for weeks, built that Lego set that's sitting on the shelf, unopened. I've written and posted 20k words worth of Fanfic in the past year, it was a way better experience than staying here wasting my time endlessly arguing about nothing.

Looks like the game gets updated even if I don't check every day.
