Scarecrow71
I have a very wide structure that I need to get into HKO, but it wobbles terribly at launch. I know I need to tie this down with struts to keep it and the rest of the craft wobbling, but the struts aren't long enough (they turn red and won't attach). Are there any tricks I can use here to get the craft to stay straight? I'm looking more for generalizations, although I can post a picture of the craft if someone wants to give more specific information (later tonight as I am not at my machine currently). Superfluous J
Back in KSP1 I used trusses on decouplers, sticking out so they were midway between the 2 parts I wanted to strut together. Run the struts from the trusses to the permanent features of the space structure. When the struts are no longer needed, decouple the trusses and the struts go away, leaving a non-permanent strut piece that vanishes when the craft is reloaded. Not sure if that last part will work in KSP2. Struts seem to actually be 2 permanent parts that stick to the craft plus 1 long bar connecting them. I thought this was just me Attaching the struts to the decouplers themselves also worked, but IIRC this also left marks.
